How do you play online with the PS3?

Easy 10 points here I have PSN but I don't know how to get online matches started. 1st person to answer it with some instructions gets the points First of all, u must have a game that allows online playing.(look at the back of game cover)
Then, In the game, U go to online(there should be an option)

try this worked for me in the PS3 Quick Guide phamplet there are detailled instructions on how best to set up an internet connection, wired or wireless. i would describe it here, but it is quite complicated.
