Im geting ps3 but what does 40g and 80g make the diffrence?

May be...
  • im geting 40g ps3 and i dont know what the diffrence between 40g and 80g like im ganna use my ps3 just for games and saving.. game memory thats all im not ganna save anything else.im ganna play online probibly alot but does that make a diffrence.

i just wanna know what does 40g ps3 and 80g ps3 have in commen and diffrent
  • Check here http://www.us.playstation.com/ps3/about/...
  • the 40 gig is no backwards compatible with ps2 games... and i believe there are fewer ports for media such as usb etc...
  • It apparantley has more memory and on an 80 gig you can play PS2 games as well
  • exept for the 40 GB difference the 40g doesnt support ps2 games and has 2 usb ports instead of 4 for the 80g the 40g also doesnt have flash card readers and doesnt support SACD
  • The 40 gb cannot and will not play the physical PS2 games.

The 40 gb has no flash drives, while the 80 gb has 3 flash drives (CompactFlash, SD, and Memory Stick Pro).

The 40 gb only has 2 USB ports while the 80 gb has 4 USB ports, so if you want to charge more than 2 Sixaxis, you will either need to get a USB hub or use the PC to charge them.
