Metal Gear (Solid)?

May be...

I am thinking of buying MGS4 when it comes out, but I wanna buy a game in the series b4 I do so I kinda know whats going on, and to see what kind of game it is. I was thinking I'd get the essential pack, but I saw that it had Solid 2: Substance and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence. What does that mean... like are they different games of the original Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty & Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater??? or what ... Can someone explain this to me. Also if you think there is another game in the series that is better suited for me to get a feeling for the games tell me, but I'd rather not get a PS1 title cuz the graphics will be sooooooo bad. substance/subsistance are the original MGS2 and 3 with some extra bits added in. They were released a little bit after the originals as special editions.

The original PS1 game is good too, and I don't think the graphics are as bad as you fear.

Yeah, the best one for you to see first is definetely MGS 2 sons of liberty because that is indeed the most violent of them all and it has so much blood in it and the graphics in it are awesome. Also the missions in there are not so complicated like the other games

get all 3 mgs1 mgs2 and mgs3 u need to play them all in order to get the point of the game but since u dont like ps1 titles cuz the graphics are bad then get the gamecube version of metal gear solid 1. The gamecube version is called metal gear solid the twins snakes there both the same story just the gamecube version looks better.
