What ps3 system can play playstation 2 games ?

May be...
  • i am a really big fan of playstation 2 so i have alot of games, so i need a system that can play playstation 2 games and still give me the best that ps3 can offer with its games . and a ps3 that can last a long time without problems
  • Only the 60gb Model mate and if you want one you better start looking on ebay because they don't make them anymore.

I would say you are better off just keeping your ps2 and get a 40gb model Ps3
  • 80 gb model.
  • the 20 gb, the 60gb and the 80 gb systems can all play PS2 titles. In my opinion, the 60 Gb model is the best all around model to date. It's the hardest one to find because it's discontinued, but it would be worth the effort.
  • Any PS3 except the 40gb.

In other words, the 20gb, 60gb, or 80gb models. The only models in stock anymore are the 80gb models though. They play approximately 85%+ of all ps2 games. The 60gb model plays 99%+. I'm not sure offhand how many the 20gb model plays.

If you love to play ps2 games still I'd recommend going with the 60gb model, if you can find it on ebay or somewhere else. You might end up paying more for it than you would for a 80gb, so be prepared to shell out a lot of dough.
  • 80 GB Model
  • 20GB emotion engine full ps2 support

40GB no chip no emulation, no ps2 or ps1 support

60GB emotion engine full ps2 support

80GB emulation ps2 support not full but most ps2 titles

20 vs 60 is wi-fi and card readers

This is at least the basics on the differences

so if you want ps2 compatibility rule out the 40, the 60s sometimes have an overheat issue but not always.
