My PS3 usb headset borken?

I just got it 3 days ago and I've been playing GTA 4 online. I had stumbled over the wire but It didnt come out or anything. I checked it to make sure that it was ok. The prung was fine and so was the cord. So I started playing GTA again and al of a sudden I could hear fomr the headset but couldnt talk. My PS3 can read it when it's plugged in and my computer, but now when I talk noone can hear me and when im on the ready screen, when I talk the speaker doesnt light up but the system says its plugged in.

Try to stop using it and use it again after a few hours. Since the cord seems fine I would guess it is the ps3 that is making the error. Plug your headset into your computer and see if it works on there. If it doesn't, get a new headset. I'm sure you can take the headset back after only 3 days.
