Whats wrong with GTA 4?

May be...

My fiance' was playing GTA 4 today. After he turned it off for a while and went back to play it, the game wouldn't load. It will come on, show the title screen and all that jazz, but when it gets to the last save point with the title of the last saved game, it just says "loading-first date". It wont go any further. We have tried updating the PS3 system and it said that an update wasn't needed. His game wont load, and neither will mine. What could be wrong? BTW, he has one of those fans attached to the PS3 if that makes a difference.

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, but with a different mission. There is an EASY FIX. Simply exit the game, go to network settings, and disable internet conection, then disable media server.

Now go back into the game and have fun!

All you need to do is this...

Turn off the internet on your console and there no more freezing if this continues follow these steps

Here are some things you can do if your game has been freezing on you...

Console Tricks

1.Turn off Internet

2.Disable The RSS Feed (The scrolling info on top right corner of your Screen)

3.Disable Media Server from your computer to your ps3

4.Delete Internet Data (Cache)

5.Turn Off Console's Screen Saver

after doing this start your game and follow these steps

InGame

Turn off Autosave

Turn Off Flicker Filter

Other Steps (Last Option)

Delete all your Game save data and Utility data!!!!!

re-install if your still having problems take your disc back and get a new one!!!

There have been some reports of GTA4 freezing on some PS3 models.



I have a PS3 and I have GTA4, but I haven't had any freezing issues at all.



Rockstar is working on the issue right now to get it fixed.



And like I said earlier this week to one of your questions, your finance doesn't need that fan attachment for the PS3.

A lot of people are experiencing a "freeze" problem with this game. Hopefully a patch is released soon to fix this!

well ive heard that an update is coming out may 15(not sure tho) which will fix the problem like this

if u just sign out before u enter the game itll work

The PS3 is just a waste of money and is one of the worst game system ever.
