Yes, I have done the same thing with my Guitar Hero and Rock Band. If you guitar from guitar hero is wireless, you have to set it up with the PS3. Or you could call Best Buy. They helped a lot with ours.

it depends because if it's wireless if you get it configured then it might work but if it has a cord then no go.
