Can a Japanese PS3 play american Blu-Rays or DVD's?

May be...

Looking to import a white PS3, and wondering if it plays U.S. region Blu-Rays and/or DVD's. Wouldn't buy it if it didn't play Blu-Rays...DVD's aren't a deal breaker. Also would be helpful to know if the power supply (110 v) would work here.

ONLY blu-ray discs have the unique capability of region free.

wikipedia might say there are regions but thats only to identify the backwards compatibility (DVDs and CDs)
