How does a lag switch work.?

like how do you use it how long can you use it any info is appreciated no websites pls

You usually use it with a playstation 3 and use it online..you have to splice an ethernet cord and use a light switch while playing online so when you flick it it disconnects you from the server only briefly and then you reconnect..works for glitches and not getting killed. However, this only works on playstation 2 games since if you disconnect for even a second in a ps3 game you will not be able to reconnect.
