I dropped my PS2 slightly, nothing big, and now it won't read discs?
May be...
any ideas?...or anything i can do free...or cheap, to fix it? not worth spending 50$ on anymoreIf you have a friend who knows a little about mechanics, you can ask him. But the best thing to do would be to go to a shop and ask if its broken and (if it is) how to fix it yourself using the tools in a tool box.You MAY be able to send it in to Sony to request service on it if:
- The bar code on the back of the PlayStation is still there.
- You have not voided your warranty (by damaging any parts of the PlayStation 2, not taking your system in for service while the warranty wasn't expired)
- If ther was an original warranty on the system that hasn't expired yet, you may be eligible to send it in for free service.
- OR, if you don't have a warranty, and the bar code is not present there is nothing you can do. You either need to bar code to send it in for a service for a fee, or a warranty for free service, got to be one of the two.Any drop (regardless of distance) in sophisticated electronics, can be very damaging, as seems to be the case here. You may have done many things, misaligned laser, broke a circuit board, unhooked the drive belt for the disk tray, etc etc. Best bet, take it somewhere to get an estimate...i did that to mine by accident nd omg i was so pissd, i just ewnt out nd bought a used one 4 like $30 or so. theyr pritty cheap nowtry cleaning the lens with a special cd lens cleaner or with a simple q tip with alcohol thats how i fixed mineYou broke ittry not to drop it next time and make sure u go see a pro or some1 that has another psp
