PlayStation 3 help!!! 10 points best answer!!!?

May be...
  • if i download the update 2.35, do i need to update the older version updates before i can update 2.35 or can i jump start and download 2.35 straight away? if i can jump start and download 2.35, would it still have the same features as the previous updates in the one update?

    10 points best answer!!

i'm desprate to know, for i am getting a ps3 this week!! xD
  • no you don't have to download all the previous updates..... just 2.35.... its ayt if you didn't download the others cuz every update just add to all the features you already have so if you download 2.35 you get it all....

just in case you don't know how to do a firmware update just look in the manual..... a lot of people overlook the user's manual and sometimes it can actually be useful.....

    hope this helped you out!:D

  • There is an option from the PS3 settings menu that will allow you to update the firmware. If you have an internet connection the unit will connect directly to the ps3 repository for the latest update.

One thing i strongly suggest for you to do is update your system before playing your games. The games will have to make every update that the PS3 makes

    For Example,

    I update my PS3 to firmware 2.35

I update my GTA IV GameData to firmware 2.35

    then.....

I update my PS3 to firmware 2.4(dont believe its been released yet)

I update my GTA IV gamedata to firmware 2.4
  • No, you dont need to update the older versions, and yes it will have the same features as previous updates. I think the ps3 is shipping with a more recent update.

By the time you buy a PS3 though, Firmware 2.4 will probably be out. I think its due out this week sometime.
  • Yes you can update it to the 2.35 without having to download the older versions.

    I did that on mine.
  • to make it simply to read and underdstand, the latest update will have all the previous updates in it
