Is it possible to have the Playstation 3 system turned off and still download a demo?



Just wondering this as I just barely hooked up the ps3 to my wireless internet. Ive been looking around the system but i dont know if its possible... please let me know with steps if its possible. thank you so mucho!!!!!

Unfortunately, it's not possible. I wish it was. Your PS3 has to be on in order to download anything - similar to your PC- it you can't download music, etc, if it's off.



Oh, and airdogspace, please stop spreading false info. Power save mode and "off" are two completely different things. If your Xbox is OFF, it's not downloading anything. That was his question.

Well there is a new feature with 2.4 where you can download an update and when it finishes(downloading and installing by itself ) the ps3 will automatically turn off, may be sony will expand this for playstation store content

Once the PS3 is powered off, the download pauses. It will restart again from it's previous stopping point once you turn it back on...

The xbox 360 is a background downloading so you turn off your Xbox 360 and it goes into a low power mode and keeps downloading.
