Should i get a xbox 360 or ps3 if i already have a wii,ps2,psp,?

May be...
  • Everyone says that Ps3 are good but whats so good about them and there to expensive, but i can get a 360 at gamestop for 200.00. help
  • Well i already bought a ps3 and i think i'm going to get a 360 now. There cheaper like you said but they just have better games and more of my friends have them. The ps3 wasn't a waste of money or anything though because they have games coming out that look good and it is a blu ray player which i use often. So it depends, if you just think your going to play games i would get a 360, if you think your going to do more multimedia stuff get a ps3
  • the xbox is the better buy.

the xbox has the best online play plus demos and many other great online features.(just think about how crappy the online will be if its free how do they run good servers with no money because sony already loses money from each ps3 sold) the xbox has a more powerful gpu and a processor made for games not doing STRICT mathematical calculations. and the ps3 failed with blue ray in it because it dosent have that much benefit for 2 reasons.

    1. the ps3 (piece of s|-|1# 3) has a IBM cell based processor with 7 Synergistic Processor Elements (like mini virtual cores) with 1 logical core. this means the Cell processor in the ps3 uses linear processing. Meaning its the code that tells it exactly what to do. The xbox 360 tri core processor is open processing. Meaning it doesn't need as much code to tell it what to do. it is variable based. meaning the data on the disk for a ps3 has to be more taking up more space. plus most games have a variable processing environment so they choose which core to work on the ps3 is not going to have that a programmer would have to tell each spe (Synergistic Processor Element) what to do at wat times (uses alot of code)

    2. Microsoft holds the rights to direct x. direct x is a virtual rendering application used in windows and xbox360. using direct x makes models take up less data space and use less gpu memory plus the 360 has a more powerful gpu.

in conclusion a 360 game and ps3 game are about the same in quality and length.

its sad that Sony has to use a 3rd party software producer to sell there weak graphics, gameless not space efficient, garbage system (MGS4)

i guess if u wanted a blueray movie player and a s|-|1tty gaming system ud want a ps3
  • I dont have either system personaly but have looked into and played both of them though.

PS3-This system has the most stuff bundled into it and graphics are by all means great. It has a few must have games that are worth a play and the controlers being wireless is always nice,lol...That being said, the PS3 has recently been going through scruteny due to hacking aligations and people having there software corrupting there internet, etc. I dont think that is by any means widescale or anything but mearly informing you of whats out there at the moment. In all though the PS3 is worth the buy if you like all the gadgets in it and or the games itself(mind you,you must buy the higher end PS3's to get more; or all, the gadgets)

Xbox360-this system trumphs PS3 by better net capabilities and better online games(such games like halo come to mind).this system also has some must have games as well, namely GTA 4 being more widely played on this system compared to PS3.Only issues im aware of with this system is cases of overheating from excessive gaming; so to be on the safe side if your a lengthy hour gamer, take breaks on occasion to play it safe.Overall though, this is the superior system for online play over PS3(still..)and has a few good games worth playing too.

In short,i would recommend a 360 from personal preference and due to less issues with the system itself(as of recently),but you cant go wrong with either or:P
  • I have both the PS3 and the 360 Elite and its hard to say which one is better. One of the best games already released for 360 isn't coming to PS3 until October and this seriously makes PS3 hard to root for BUT. When the developers designed the PS3 they designed it with the mentality of producing the closest thing to an actual computer available, the 360 does allow saving video or audio content from an external storage device (flash drive) this is all to reminiscent of the marketing tactics Apple uses to make sure people buy songs from iTunes. Because the PS3 allows users to replace the drive with aftermarket you can stick a VERY large drive in the PS3 and make it one heck of a powerful multimedia device. In the end it really comes to the games. All of the games available for xbox that are worth taking the time to play are also on the PS3 except Bioshock and supposedly this game in particular is going to be enhanced greatly when it finished so it may be worth the wait. It you are a huge Half Life fan I would suggest you get it for xbox though because it was ported by EA and EA makes terrible games and even worse ports. In the end I end up using my PS3 a lot more then my Xbox because it is free to play online and it is great for video and music.
  • get a 360, its cheaper and u already hav a ps2, ps3 just has good graphics, the 360 can play movies and cd's 2, plus i heard u cant play ps2 games in it cuz the graphics r 2 good so u couldnt sell ur ps2 unless u didnt like the games for it, and also cuz of that they're still gonna make games for ps2 for a while, Xbox 360 also has Xbox live, so if u get bored playing by urself u can play online with other ppl, plus there just more online activities in general..... i hav the Wii but not the ps3 or 360, but i've played both, trust me the 360 is much beter
  • Yeah, a crappy 360 that's broken and used.

That you'll have to spend $ on (100$ give or take) to get fixed, then buy the 100$ wifi adapter and the 100$ hard drive. Not to mention 50$ a year for live.

    Still think PS3 is expensive?

400$ 80gig this september. Opposed to at least 500$ for that 360.
  • PS3.
  • if u alredy hav a ps2, psp and wii u dont need either. the wii is (due 2 motion sensoring) mor fun than either. + the psp was the first prototyp 4 the ps3
  • I have a Wii, PS2 and PSP too and I would get a 360.
  • (\__/)

    (='.'=)

    (")_(")
  • ps3 theres some cool games coming out this year and next killzone2

god of war 3 an more
  • PS3 is better. What u pay is what u get. The PS3 comes with ultimate graphics, free online gaming and the blueray. go with the PS3
  • Xbox360!
  • get a 360 its way better
  • Free online gaming for ps3 and the blu ray player and better graphics

It's definitely a tough choice to choose between the two systems. I ended up choosing the PS3 in the end though since I love movies and Blu-ray is the way to go. It's only a matter of time before there's tons of great games to play.

I wanted to let you know that Stacker 2 has this contest going on where if you design a 6 Hour Power t-shirt you could win a PS3 or Xbox 360 (your choice) and a copy of Rise of the Argonauts, along with a year's supply of 6 Hour Power and 10 t-shirts with your design on it. I work with them so I can't enter, but if you enter let me know because I'll vote for your design. For contest details go here: http://www.brickfish.com/Entertainment/Stacker2?tab=overview
