Does the ps3 play games in 720p?

May be...
  • yes it does it also plays it in 1080i and 1080p but if your t.v is hdmi compatanle that is way better
  • Yes it does. Most games that are released are released in 720P native resolution. You can upscale the game as well if it is capable of 1080P. If you go to Display Settings under Settings, then select HDMI, custom, you can check and uncheck different display resolutions. You can leave 420P (default, cannot be unchecked) and 1080P checked in and force your games to 1080P providing they can be upscaled. About 90% of games can be upscaled so this shouldn't be a problem. I

f a game cannot be upscaled to 1080P and goes into 480P automatically, then you will have to check 720P back in. There is no way to circumvent this so I'm afraid we are stuck until a firmware update is released.
  • Yes, also in 1080i, 1080p and 576i etc.

If you have a HDTV with HDMI then use it.

Or a PC Monitor that has HDCP.
  • this site will give you a playstation 3 just for completing some quick online tasks! really recommend it, especially if you're broke but really want a ps3 (like me).
  • im sorry no
