Sony Playstation 3 Music problem?

Excuse me but i am wondering does PS3, let you play the music of your choice , during the gameplay of one of your PS3 games, like if i buy Grand Theft Auto 4 for PS3, will i be able to play my music from PS3 hard drive while playing the game. i know XBox 360 let's you play your own music during any game, but does the PS3 do the same thing



if so then how can i do that

the Firmware 2.40(and later) update added the ability for games to let you paly music off your harddrive.

However the game developer has to add this ability to the game, and as most developers will want you to listen to the music they composed/liscenced, they will more than likely not include it in all games.

Dead Space would lose alot of atmospere if Spice Girls was blasting away in the back ground.

One of the recent updates lets you access the Xrossbar during some games.



From there you can play music, so yes, for some games (I think GTP is one)
