What is so good about Killzone 2?

I've seen videos, I've read about it but I still don't know what all the fuss is about. What makes this shooter so different to other shooters? It looks like an average shooter with good graphics, anyone know what makes it so special and why so many people are hyping it? Serious question

the same goes for halo series. there are too many shooters being made, imo, most of them arent bad, but they offer very little new, if anything.

I'm an Xbox fanboy, but I have to admit, the Killzone 2 trailer looked great when it came out. That was WHEN it came out. Originally, KZ2 was supposed to rival Gears of War back in 2006, but it won't make it in time to compete with Gears 2. The problem is, the game was such a big undertaking, that they couldn't release it while it was the most advanced shooter in the works (like Sony had planned). By Feb, 2009, the Killzone 2's release month, the game's technology will no longer be ahead of other shooters.

Resistance 2 actually has a story, it is definitely different than other shooters. It deserves the hype it gets because of Resistance 1's success. Plain and simple.



As for Killzone 2, I'm not sure. It may be over-hyped like you said. The graphics look awesome though, one of the best. Truly next-gen. Maybe fans are waiting for this one. I think it does deserve attention from gamers.

Yeah I never got the big idea either for it. It has really good graphics, and good AI, and a supposedly amazing online multiplayer.



Resistance 2, though, is big because it has 60 player multiplayer, and like, 600 foot tall enemies, and it just looks really cool.

Killzone 2: Better AI opponents, destructible cover, massive battlefields.



Resistance 2: Same as above, plus Leviathan monster opponents and 60-player multiplayer matches.
