Given how Sony has recently announced their new Uncharted bundle with a 160GB hard drive (up from 120GB, previously 80 and 60GB), it seems they're trying to keep the price point static while increasing the value of what you're getting for the money every so often.



Its possible the system may have a slight drop in price just in time for Christmas sales, but I doubt it.

no, at least not until after christmas. Sony have said there will be no price drop before. Although you may find shop only bundles that mean the console and games together will be cheaper.



Microsoft are lowering they're price all the time to try and compete with the sales of the PS3. The PS3 has sold over 1 million more consoles in the same life time as the 360. (the ps3 has been out for a year less)

Prices are dropping all the time. If you're a UK resident, play.com have some great bundles, one of which features little big planet, star wars: the force unleashed, i am legend (blu-ray), a sony bluetooth remote control and an 80gb ps3 for just £300 (which is the price of a ps3 on it's own anywhere else).



I've also heard rumors of a slimline ps3, some people have said it'll be out in january (but just rumors). If that comes out, that'll be cheaper as there's less material used to make it and the non-slim ps3 should be cheaper as theyre outdated.

X-Box has come down a lot PS3 hasnt really budged. There willl be a big demand for Chrismtas so I dont see them dropping the price. I guess maybe they will come out with a cheaper version for Christmsas like a smaller hard drive but my best guess is it will come down in price about a week after Christams.

Sony will not drop their price before Christmas. The price is set until sales come down. PS3 sales are actually up currently. They do not expect the demand to fall during Christmas so why drop price?





They just offer bigger hard drives and game bundles but the actual price will not drop until maybe next Christmas(2009).
