If i format my 80 gb ps3 can it still play ps2 games ?

o.k i have an 80 gb ps3 (metal gear solid 4 bundle)

it can play alot of ps2 games (backwards compatible)

but if i format the ps3 will it still be able to play ps2 games on it .??

Yeah. The ability to play ps2 games has nothing to do with the hard drive. to play a ps2 game, u need the ps2 gpu and cpu



your model of the ps3 has the actual gpu, but uses emulation to simulate the cpu. it can't play all ps2 games because the emulated cpu doesn't work with all games, but it does with most



it's either like that or the other way around, where it has the actual cpu and emulates the gpu.



anyways, formatting won't stop you from playing ps2 games

an 80 gb ps3 can play ps2 games but uoy have to go to the playstaion store and download the software needed
