i am not sure if it will work on a very old TV...like the ones that don't have AV jacks. Remember the days of the PS1 and the PS2 when you needed an RF switch to play on some TV's, well those days are over. I don't thing you can connect a PS3 to that kind of TV.

Playsation 3 does it need any special type of tv brand to go with it?
May be...
does the playstation 3 and xbox 360 reqiuer any special type of tv??? or do thay work on all brands yes a high def tv i mean yeah you can play it in sd but it doesnt look all that great so it really does need a hd tv All you need is a TV with the basic composite connections (red, white, yellow input jacks).

No gaming platform is brand specific when it comes to TV's. The PS3 have several different connection types available, so upgrade from the AV cable that comes in the box, or don't. I have found that I get the best picture with the output set on 1080P, using a HDMI cable, on my Toshiba LCD. no, just V,G,A, jacks
