Price drop for the ps3?

i was wondering if anyone knew if there was going to be a potential price drop for the ps3 system in the near future

Nope.

It was in an article recently, basically its as cheap as they can make it while still making what could be called a profit on it.

I think Ps3 is great, but unfourtanelty in the current economic times and the fact price will be a major factor for many the PS3 doesn't look favourable against two other consoles which sell for nearly less than £200. Most folks wont look past the price point, which will turn away many potential PS3 owners, but Sony Suits seem to not realise that.

Then again MS have stated Septembers price drop is the last for a few years, so Sony can catch up next xmas.

not anytime during Chrismas...Sony announced at the beggining of October that they will NOT be lowering the ps3 price this Chrismas

ebay is selling the 40gb ps3's for $250, but i would rather pay 100 more for an 80gb one.



Dont listen to these other answers they are pretty stupid. Just check out ebay.

They droped it last September. They took off the backwards compatibility you get an 80gb instead of 40 for the same price

Meh, Id seriously still pay $499 for a PS3 over any XBOX.

Not anytime soon.
