PS3 backwards compatible?

May be...
  • Is the PS3 80 GB backwards compatible with both PS2 and PS1--I want to play the KH games and a few other older ones.

If not, which PS3 version is backwards compatible with the other two systems, how much does it cost, and where can I buy it?
  • backward compatibility for the PS3 is as follows:

20GB (no longer in production) - yes

60GB (no longer in production) - yes

80GB with 4 USB slots (no longer in production) - yes

40GB (no longer in production) - NO

    80GB with 2 USB slots - NO

    160GB - NO

any other up coming PS3's - NO

    all PS3's play PS1 games.

the cheapest PS3 you will find with backwards compatibility is the 20GB PS3. it sells for $379.99 at GameStop. and it will be used.
  • PS3 no longer has b/c on there current models.

you would have to buy a used one at game stop that is b/c

    i think they run $350
