What's wrong with my PS2?

May be...

Please help.



like 19/20 times, when i reset/fiddle with my consul it says it can't read the disk even though the disk is brand new. I have tried several disks. Also no matter which controler I plug in, it does that annoying thing where it forces the cursor thing to the left and you can't fight it.



Are these connected and what is the problem?

the eye (lens) inside your ps2 is most likely dirty. If you know what your doing open the ps2 and with a cotton swab clean the lens.

Is it a new PS2 or very old?

Slimline?

Modded?



If its an old one...then most probably the Lens has given up...which is natural with any mechanical device...so you may have to replace the lens which is available on ebay and many other online shopping sites and your PS2 will be running , but you should consult a ps2 repair guy before doing this.

its old all those many hours of hard gaming have finally payed off just dig a hole in the back garden and lay it to rest get a new ps3 or x box..360 sorry for your loss...

take it to your local curciut city, best buy, game stop...its a technical problem....they'll fix it for about 20 bucks
