What am i missing if i get a PS3 with 60gb over a PS3 with 80gb?

May be...
  • What am i missing if i get a PS3 with 60gb over a PS3 with 80gb? besides less memory?
  • You're not really missing anything other than memory. In fact, you're actually gaining other features if you mean the new 80GB PS3's.

The 60 GB PS3's have what is called hardware emulation. This means that it can play Playstation 2 games as well as PS1 games. The old 80 GB uses Software Emulation which means the same thing but has been criticized for being worse quality and plays less PS2 and PS1 games.

The newer PS3's don't even play PS2 and PS1 games (unless you buy them from the online marketplace).

Plus, if you want you can upgrade any PS3 to 500 GB with another hard drive. Sony actually recommends doing this. It's in the manuel that comes with a PS3. So, it's still possible to buy more memory if needed.
  • If you get the 60GB is is obviously the original. the 80GB you dont get as much USB's as the 60Gb (you get 4) Also if you really loved some PS2 games you can only play them on the 60Gb.
  • 60 gb is the best version assuming its the original cuz the 60 gb has backwards compatability and the 60 gb is the original version
  • The 60 GB version has two more USB outputs(4 total) and has rumble feature but I think you should buy the 40 GB and buy a 120GB harddrive. It cost like 100$ but u get more memory with it then new PS3
  • You won't miss that much. only the memory.

The 60 GB is kinda better because it has backward compatibility.
  • Uhh well the old 80G used to play PS2 and PSone games but other than that youre not missing anything.
  • What are you missing?

    20GB ;)

No, nothing except memory, You get more with the 60GB
  • You're probably the one who took the used one I was about to get!
