When will the ps3 or x-box 360 have their next price drop?

May be...

i still haven't bought any of the 2 systems and i was wondering when the their next price drop would be so maybe i could get a better deal.

Don't listen to the guy that said "When PS4 and Xbox720 comes out" because they will be released in like 3-5 years from now.



PS3 price drop: Nov 2007 [Think so]

Xbox price drop: March 2008



So if you look into it and use your common sense, Xbox will not price drop anytime soon. Next Xbox price drop will not happen until maybe late 2010 on the earliest.



PS3 has been removing many chips out and making it smaller. From this, we could suspect a price drop soon but we don't know. They removed the PS2 emulator, which can read PS2 games. If there was a price drop, it would be $50. But right now, Sony said that they are trying to make a profit, and until then, they will do a price drop. They must see that they are capable to make profit with PS3. Right now they lose aprox. $55 per console sold. On launch date, they lost $200 per console made.



In my opinion, just get any which system you want now since there wouldn't be a price drop anytime soon for both. But there is a rumor that PS3 will drop in March but no one is sure. But if you saw my reason above, then most likely they will not.



If I were in your shoes, I'd get a PS3 :P

The Xbox 360 has a bare bones model sans a HDD for $199 !



Currently the PS3's cheapest model is the newly released 80GB model which sells for $399 !



There's been rumors circulating that the PS3 may get a price drop within the next 2-4 months so I'd sit tight and wait to see if you're wanting a PS3 !

When Xbox 720 and Ps4 are released you might see a 30$ price drop but I wouldn't hope for that since these next gen consoles should have a long life if the Ps2 was made in the millenium "2000" and is still getting games today 2009.

I would say once Sony starts realesing games around the first or second quarter of 2009, then the actual PS3 will drop it's price. As for the Xbox, it really doesn't need to drop it's price. It's already $200 at the lowest.
