Can you charge a PSP using just the USB cord?

May be...
  • Ive been trying it but it doesnt seem to be working. I lost the charger.
  • That depends on which model you have. If you have an old 1000 series model, this will not work. If you have 2000 series or later, all you need is a USB 2.0 port, and a USB (b) cable to plug into your PSP. You might have to go into the settings to enable USB charging, but I think it will work automatically.

    Hope this helps.
  • YES

first you need a usb 2 port( youll probly have one)

if you have a slim(dont know if it works with da fat) go to settings and set "usb charge" on then

then i think you need to go into usb mode

alternatively you can buy yourself a cable with a charging plug or make your own.
  • there is a firmware for the Phat PSP that enables usb charging.i'm can't recall where but u can try www.psp-hacks.com.if putting custom firmware is to confusing for you,u can use other chargers as long as the output voltage is the same as the psp charger which is 5V.
