ps3 or the 360
and why
If you notice, he listed no disadvantages of the 360.
First of all, what's up with 360 guys thinking you can't play demos for free?
You can, OK? So shut up (really doubt you got a PS3.)
Xbox 360 exlcusives:
Well in total they have 162 exclusives.
Decent.
PS3:
There are 132 on the PS3.
1 year and a half head start for the 360? Pathetic.
The better gaming system would be the PS3 as it obviously has more advanced hardware (not just Blu-Ray)
It would be poor if Killzone 2 was ported over to the 360 because Killzone would look horrible for the 360.
The PS3 has yet to use its full potential while the 360 already maxed out at Gears of War 2.
Red Ring of Death. No need to say more.
Updates are fast on the PS3 and I have a crappy connection.
The 360 can't even play movies on disc. A discontinued piece of hardware is needed.
Microsoft rips you off with the wireless adapter.
£60? Even the DS has Wi-Fi installed.
So you're telling me the DS actually costs £40 but then they added WiFi?
No, just MS doing their dirty stuff again.
Anyhow, I hope that you understand that I'm being biased too, the Armanito guy too.
Our opinions will do nothing but get you can confused (Aramanito was being just a little bit of a fan boy. )
My theory Fan Boy = Worse than Douche Bag.
EDIT:
Forgot to add, both great consoles.
I was being the PS3 version of Aramanito.
PS3 is the better console for the money.
PS3 is less likely to break down on you. Built much better and cools itself very well provided you give adequate space to the vents.
Blu-Ray discs used for PS3 games hold much, much more data so games have bigger potential. And the protective coating makes the discs very, very difficult to scratch. You won't get that with the DVD used by the 360.
PS3 has a brighter future. More powerful console. Developers will be able to do more with their games on the PS3.
Overall a better investment in the long run. PS3 has a bigger upfront cost, but is potentially $200-$300 cheaper in the long run.
You aren't limited to "Sony only" equipment. Flexible hard drive support. Flexible USB device support. Flexible Bluetooth support. Microsof makes you buy only "Microsoft stuff."
The only real advantage the 360 has had is the online and that's mainly because you pay for it.
my cousins got the ps3 pretty much since it came out and he hasnt had any problem with it. you get free online play blue ray and internet but its a bit more extensive
I would get the 360 again just cause I like gears of war and halo and with the warranty I dont really care if it breaks down. it was only 40 for a year and I got a new xbox
Im no expert on the ps3 but my friend got one and it broke the next month(not saying xbox's are all that much better buttttt)
I Made the mistake of buying a Xbox 360 :-/
becuz it has blu ray good graphics and class games coming out and loads of good games alreyd out aswell
I once did a test, and asked the PS3 folks here, what the PS3 can do better than the Xbox 360, and listed the advantages of the Xbox 360 console.
Since I own both consoles, I know where each of the consoles excels or fails.
In short, the PS3 can *not* do:
- Play your own music in all games.
- Allow you to talk to up to 7 other players across different games (PS3 only can do Text chat).
- Update games in a few seconds.
- Allow you to test download games before you buy them.
What the PS3 *does* well, is playing Blu-ray movies.
However, if you have a "normal" 5.1. surround set, the PS3 is unable to recode audio tracks.
For example: If you have a DVD or Blu-ray disc with a Dolby Digital 5.1 Soundtrack, you will get the full surround sound.
If the Blu-ray has Dolby TrueHD or DTS HD tracks with 7 channels, your Surround set will only provide you with stereo sound.
The Xbox 360 could always recode sound of HD-DVDs to a fitting 5.1 surround set.
And as for the people saying that the PS3's online play is free:
For the price difference of the PS3 and Xbox 360, I can play 2 and a half year on Xbox Live for "free".
I get better service, less laggy gameplay and a community that *works*.
I tried to play Gran Tourismo Prologue on the PS3. It took the PS3 several attempts and more than 2 hours to update the game, because the update servers were slow and unstable.
Finally when playing, the cars were lagging, jerking and jumping all over the place despite my 16MBit internet connection.
So yeah, the online play on PS3 is free, but you get what you pay for.
As for the arguments of the other PS3-recommenders:
He is looking for a gaming console. What good is it, when you can buy harddrives, Bluetooth headsets and stuff, when you can't use it as a gaming advantage?
You can't talk to your friends across games with your Bluetooth headset. You need a bigger harddisc, because the PS3 forces you to install games, because of the slow data transfer speed of a Blu-ray drive.
So: I'll make you an offer:
for every reason to get a PS3, I can give you two reasons, why the Xbox 360 is a better choice.
Feel free to ask me.
