Will 54mps play games online, with no lag, on a ps3?

May be...
  • i need to buy a router but i don't know the right speed.
  • Absolutely! You could run a webserver for a small business on that line.

Of course, I don't think you actually have that kind of connection.

54Mbps is maximum speed that 802.11g transmits. It's very unlikely that you actually have 54Mbps of bandwidth (and even if you did, you'd never be able to saturate it unless you were using P2P or running a server).

Unless you have FTTH and have some kind of 100Mbps connection, you're not going to need a router that can handle more than 54Mbps. If you have ADSL, CATV, 3G, or nearly any type of fibre, then your bandwidth is less than 54Mbps anyway.

But in answer to your question, if you really do have a 54Mbps line entering your home or office, then you can play online games with your PS3 with absolutely zero lag.
  • i don't know what mps is, i know you need at least a couple of hundred kps to play most online games with out glitching out.
  • yes you can but make sure your not eating up you bandwith with other programs running on you computer like aim or messenger, and you dont have your browser open, you will not have any lag.
  • Of course. You can if 64kbps can play games like resistance2 online and gta4 with no lag at all. Than 54mbps can play any game online.
  • That is perfect enough
