Why does Sony make it so hard to make "cheat" hardware for PS3?

May be...
  • I'm 51 years old but still like video games and have all the consoles including PS3.

But I mostly play with Game Cube or PS2 as I have either Game Shark or Action Replay to plug in some cheats.

If there was a good cheat hardware for PS3 I would buy more games and play with it. Right now it's being used only as a Blu Ray player.

Don't they realize they will sell more games if there was a cheat hardware?

    I don't play online games.
  • I understand your point, there is nothing more frustrating than playing a game and getting so far but then the difficulty ramps up so high it is nearly impossible to go any further. This would be a good scenario for a cheat device, also if you beat a game and want to play it again with some cheats. I would love to see a Game Shark or Pro Action Replay for PS3.
  • cheats are only for losers who cannot finish a level with a clean game. There are actually some cheats on games like guitar hero 3 for PS3.. there are cheats to unlock all songs and other stuffs. I mean cheating isn't a bad idea. But where's the fun in that? How could you be proud of finishing a game by cheating? But like I said, it's only for losers. I'm sure you don't need trophies because you don't play online. But I'm telling you, online game is 90% of fun in PS3. Offline game is just 10% of the fun. You should go online and play COD4 or Killzone 2 with other guys.
  • Because they have trophies that are like achivements like on the xbox

    NOTE: i own a PS3
  • see thats that key word CHEAT

no point in playing the game if you have to cheat so they made it where you can't period.
  • Nothing because they Ps3 can't be cracked yet because of blu-ray
  • maybe we'll see it in the future but nothing now that i know of
