What is included when you buy a PS3 from Amazon.com? (Not other sellers, but new from Amazon)?

May be...
  • I am planning on buying a new 80gb ps3 from amazon.com, and am wondering if I need to buy any accessories separately (e.g. AV cable, power cable, dualshock controller, etc.)
  • If you are buying the PS2 backward compatible 80GB bundle from Amazon ( http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-80GB... ), the bundle will come with a SixAxis controller, not a DualShock 3 controller (no vibration with the bundle) along with a composite A/V cable, power cord, and USB cable to charge the controller.

If you are buying the current 80GB model from Amazon ( http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-80GB... ), it will come with a DualShock 3 controller, composite A/V cable, power cord, and USB cable to charge the controller.

If you want to use the PS3 in HD, you will need component cables which will give you 1080i, or an HDMI cable which will give you full HD of 1080p. You may also want to buy a memory card reader and USB hub ( http://www.amazon.com/Playstation-3-Medi... ) so you can use memory cards and gain a couple more USB slots.

The PS3 comes with everything ready to play, so the HD cables and hub center are just extra and not needed to play.

    **Note**

The memory card and USB hub are not needed on the 80GB bundle PS3 as the PS3 has built in memory card readers and gives you 4 USB ports instead of two. If you want more USB ports for his model, just get a USB hub without the memory card reader ( http://www.amazon.com/Rock-Original-Wii-... ).
  • It won't be any different than the PS3 you buy at a Wal-Mart or Best Buy. Includes a controller, A/V cable, and power cable. Everything to get started.
  • It depends on the bundle you get. All of them come with a Dualshock 3 Sixaxis controller. The system, and the cables (standard av output/input cables.)
