Question about the Playstation Portable?

May be...
  • Ok so I've been wanting a psp for years now and i've decided im getting one. While i was searching the net i found out that there is a new psp coming out in the fall called PSP Go which doesnt use disks but uses all downloaded from the playstation store. people keep telling me im going to have to get a Go either way because they will stop making the regular psp games. but i do like the old PSP 3000 better. I am not sure what to do. Please help?
  • Firstly, Sony have already said they're going to continue making the regular PSP games to support the older systems (they've sold something like 50 million of them, it'd be stupid not to)

secondly, the older models are capable of downloading games like the PSP Go does. So, should they stop making the disc games, you'd still be able to download them.

thirdly, The PSP go is more expensive in comparison to the older ones.
  • Don't worry about it they will still make games for the psp like Little Big Planet and the psp still has good games like God Of War and Tekken Dark Resurrection and Killzone Liberation, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, GTA Vice City Stories, And GTA Liberty City Stories. Also I heard there going to add trophies to the psp and the friends system and you will be able to use the same account that you already do on ps3 but I'm not 100% sure if that is true.
  • (1) Its your choice on what psp you want to buy (you said psp 3000)

    (2) Sony is still continuing the umd disk and if they stop making the umd disks you can still download via PSN(PlayStation Network)

(3)The PSP go is priced at $249, when the PSP 3000 is priced at $169

(4)If Talking about hacking and modding the PSP 3000 is only half hackable, while there is no info on the PSP go
  • If you really like the older PSPs, then do get one. You can get an extended capacity miniSD card for it (4 GB or so), and downgrade your firmware to accept emulators. Then you can simply download all sorts of games from all genres and consoles, and play them on your PSP (pending compatibility).
  • I heard that they're still gonna make psp games even after they make the psp go.
