How to configure audio levels for blurays on ps3?

May be...
  • I currently have my ps3 connected to a pc monitor using optical cables. Because the monitor does not have built in speakers, i have 2 Logitech speakers connected to the optical cable. During games/dvds/ and some blurays the sound levels are perfectly fine. But, when for some blurays the volume during the dialog is really really low, and during action scenes the dialog is really loud. How do i get the audio levels to be the same? I only have two speakers, and so im trying to find a way to remove the surround sound, and just have the sound balanced on both speakers?

The speakers are NOT part of the monitor. They are completely separate computer speakers, and there is only 2 of them. Its not a surround sound system.

    Any help is greatly appreciated...
  • In the settings menu, there is a setting for dynamic compression. This is designed to level the audio. It is mainly used for low volume listening. Also during playback of a blu-ray movie, you can press triangle to bring up the menu, and there is a section for audio volume.
  • Head to the video settings on the PS3. There is the dynamic control Noel may be referring to. Also check the output format for the optical there.
