I Need To Reset My PS3 Completely?

May be...
  • i lost my password to the PSn and i thought that if i reseted the whole ps3 it would be fixed. i tried the Date of Birth thing to change the password and it won't work. it won't let me sign in on my old account.

can someone tell me how to reset my ps3 completely so i can create a new psn account. i made a backup so that won't be a issue

i tried the 4 1/2 hr. format and it won't work
  • The only way to reset the password for your old account is if you figure out the secret answer to your secret question. To make a new PSN account, you don't need to reset your PS3. Just make a new user and go to the PSN section and Sign-up.
  • Thank wm21, you saved me from having to say that...

Why on earth did you go through all of that resetting mess to begin with?? Resetting (or even formatting) your WHOLE system has no bearings on you creating a PSN account. Why do think so many ps3 owners can have multiple PSN accounts 1 system? All you had to do was create a new user setting, then in that setting sign up for a new PSN account.

Man, seriously you made this whole thing a lot harder than it really had to be....
  • 1. Take apart you PS3

    2. Cut down a tree

    3. Carve a tree into baseball bat

    4. Smash your PS3

    5. Buy a wii

    6. Buy a new PS3

    7. Smash your PS3 over the Wii
  • Under Settings, go to System Settings, select Restore and then Quick Format.
