PS3 damaging projection TVs?

May be...
  • In the game manual it say's the PS3 can permently damage a projection TV. Why is that. A lot of people still have projection tvs.
  • it's called burn in and occurs when an image is displayed for long periods

the projector burns that image into the screen so there's always a ghosted image

it usually happens when a game is paused for an extended period or part of a game screen ( like a score box or part of a hud ) is the same throughout a game

even lcd and plasma tvs can get it but most have anti burn in features
  • I have a rear projection with a ps3 and I'm really concerned. I haven't seen any ghost images yet. I'm pretty sure its the same for the 360 and wii. And samething for other types of tv's, however in the newer tv's they have some special technology for burning ghost images and stuff you may want to get check out.
