Switching HDMI to AV for PS3?

May be...
  • ok so I had my PS3 hooked up to a HDMI tv, Well I went to switch it to a AV tv and it won't work.

I HAVE TRIED HOLDING THE POWER BUTTON AND RESETTING THE VIDEO SETTINGS SEVERAL TIMES.. IT DOESN'T WORK.

    HELP PLEASE
  • Maybe its the cable
  • If the video reset isn't working, you are doing it wrong.

Make sure the PS3 is in stand-by mode (off with the red light on the front of the PS3). Hold the power button on the PS3 (not the controller) down for five seconds until the PS3 beeps twice. The PS3 will power up and this automatically resets the video to the best options for the TV/monitor it is hooked up to.

If the video reset isn't working, then double check and make sure all the cables are connected correctly, and are tight in their appropriate places.

Also make sure your TV is set up to the correct video channel.
  • To change current video output setting on the PS 3 do the following !

    1. If the PLAYSTATION 3 is on, hold the power button for 5 seconds, it will beep once then power down.

    2. Release the power button then press and hold it for another 5 seconds.

    3. The PLAYSTATION 3 will reboot and all the video output setting will be reset.

    4. Reset your display settings to how you require them.

To manually reset the video settings do the following !

n the XMB home menu, go to Settings icon (Settings) > [Display Settings] icon and press the X button icon button.

Highlight [Video Output Settings] and press the X button icon button.

Select the appropriate connector type you are using for your TV (i.e., HDMI, AV Multi, etc.) and press the X button icon button.
