well if you are going by the year 2008 then there will be many reputable sources handing out the game of the year award but I'm sure among those awards GTA IV MGS4 and little big planet will receive those



from all the games you mentioned i too would hope gears 2 has a chance of at least getting an honorable mention because the first one was horded by tonnes of problems

None of these games will be Game of The Year. You also forget some major titles man. Big ones. Resistance 2, Little big Planet, Grand Theft Auto IV, Metal Gear Solid 4.



But out of that category I'd pick Fallout 3 hands down.

Let me put it to you this way. The Xbox 360 is like a Mansion(A big big house). The PS3 is like, how do you say it, a billionare Mansion that is problably 4,000 acres. Which would you want to have. I'll tell you some good reasons about getting which of them.



Xbox 360: It's so far the top system "for now". The 360 has more games then any of the systems and the Xbox Live is the best of online. 360 can play DVDs, and multi-media. It has USB ports. While you play your game you can also listen to music. You can check other live accounts. Play games that they made( in a game. like Halo3- the forge) Thus the 360 stands out as the top system but here are the bad things.

The Xbox 360 is not reliable. It has a 33% of a hardware failure. So be ready for a Red Ring of Death. When you enter a store you will problably get one of these systems with a hardware failure. You would be worried to get the 360 from a store. And if your 360 does get the Red Ring of Death, you can send it to Microsoft and they'll repair it for free. "Oh Yea" no problem. YES PROBLEM. Your 360 may be out for weeks or even months before it can be returned. Also whats with the lack of HD-DVD. PS3 has blu-ray. Plus the 360 is out-dated. It came like when, 3 years ago. And whats up with the over-heating. It was so hot I felt like to turn it off or something bad would happen. Also it tends to be loud. Plus, whats up with buying all these accessories. In all it would then cost over $500 just to play online and watch HD-DVD movies, and to get a fan with it. Thats the cons. Now lets talk about the PS3.



PS3: PS3 is a nice next-generation system. It supports regular DVD and Blu-ray. It has a wireless controller like the 360, but its more lighter than the 360. It may be pretty heavy but than if you actually drop it it would still work. It looks nice. The games are awesome and this year the PS3 will beat 360's games. They are getting like 15 exclusives. And also in on June 12th, the PS3 will be bundled with an 80 gb PS3, a Dualshock 3 controller, and a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4. So many good titles and titles we the people know. Oh and if your a Jak and Daxter fan, did you know that naughty dog is making a new Jak and Daxter game. I know it will come for PS3. Plus, this month Playstation Home comes out, a virtual place where friends and other users can talk, hang out, watch trailers, play demos, and much more. Your own character can look exactly like you. PS3 has free internet access, unlike the 360. It doesnt need any accessories to buy. It can do multi-media also like the 360. I really think the PS3 has better graphics than the 360. You can also use your PSP to control it. Oh and the failure rate for the PS3 is 0.2%. Now about the cons.

While this system is the pure choice, its not the choice for gamers yet . Developers needed time to get used to the system using its high tech power. Thats why the PS3 has less games. It'll get games as much as the 360 soon. Another thing is that the 40 gb which is the cheapest one doesnt have backwards compatibility. What gives? Shouldn't every system have this? The Playstation Network is not as great as Xbox Live, but I bet when Home comes out it'll get better. I think its also a little expensive, but not that much. Both systems should have been $50 less. There are not as many cons as the 360, and the reason was because the PS3 was developed carefully and smart. They even built a fan inside the system itself. Sony's getting good.



Well thats what I had. Thats all I know. Must of the exclusive games coming for the Xbox 360 (other than Gears of War 2) will be on the PS3. Thats funny. But then does that even mean there exclusive. I dont know but if there not hehehe. Microsoft you have a lot of work to do. If I had to pick which of these systems to get I would pick the Playstation 3 mainly because of the high tech power of it, and the games that are coming out. Oh wait. Thats everything then. Well if you do want a 360 get it, but be careful, and I dont know if this is true but what if Microsoft is creating another system. I mean it has been out for a long time. I also read that the PS3 will be out for another 7-10 years. I hope im not trying to persuade you. I just wanna answer the question. Both of them are good. It's your choice, not mine.









Anyway, if anyone tells you one of these consoles sucks, then ignore the reply because, both are GREAT consoles.



And don't listen to the fanboys (especially those with LONG lists of reasons or those who think specs shows which is better , since they will try to convince you that the 360 or PS3 is better or worse, often by using lies, exaggeration and uninformed opinions to support their personal views.



Both the 360 and PS3 have their advantages and disadvantages and are of similar power (as confirmed by devs who create games for both consoles, and from multi-format games), with the PS3 potentially having a slight edge overall, especially for exclusive games.

I got these games coming out this year in wikipedia, but PS3 does have more games this year and next. Dont think I was on PS3 side. Last year 360 had more. This year all developers spent at least 3 years making titles and decided to all release it this year.





So what's my verdict on which console you should buy?



BUY A CONSOLE BASED UPON THE GAMES YOU WANT TO PLAY, not based upon what certain people say or think. That's the most important thing. So see what's on offer for the PS3, see what's on offer for the 360, both exclusive and multi-format games, and make up your mind based upon the console that has the games which appeals to YOU the most.



Also, if you can, find a friend who is a fan of the PS3 and another who is a fan of the 360, and let them 'sell' the console to you, hopefully by showing you some of the best games available and allowing you to play them. And once again, don't allow them to make up your mind for you.... do it yourself based upon what you've seen and experienced.



Good luck on your choice, but you'll be happy with either console.

Also think about have you played Ratchet and Clank, Metal Gear Solid, Jak and Daxter, God of War , Kingdom Hearts, and others. If you have followed the series you may want a PS3. And think if you have followed the Halo series, or any other game on xbox.



But the PS3 exclusive MAG is really interesting. You know why because even though its online only it will hold 256 players simultaneosly. Thats the biggest ever. No game has ever down that. If this game is great there will be no reason not to get a PS3. So in a way try to get both.

well you are gonna get a lot of answers saying that the PS3 is better, i"d say right now the PS3 is doing a better job with new games and getting better online downloadable games and the PS3 is a better overall system having a 10 year lifespan while the xbox 360 usually breaks in 3 years

but Id say that xbox 360 has the best online play,



when it comes to games Id say they are even, the 360 has halo 3, mass effect, and Gears of war

while the PS3 has warhawk, Resistance and Metal Gear Solid 4



So Id say that rite now the xbox is really good because its cheaper then the PS3, and i was dissapointed how sony took out backwards compatability!

Before I start explaining on which system you should get, I want to let you know that I have both systems. Its better to talk to a person who had experience with both systems…



Here we go, based on my experience, I recommend you the PS3



Why? Well here’s why…



- Sony had 2 successful consoles that sold over 200 million combined, so they have the best experience with gaming consoles



- To these people who say that Xbox 360 has better games, that’s no longer true… Since 2007 PS3 had AAA titles that were released. Heavenly Sword, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid 4, etc.



- Xbox 360 was released in 2005, and its potential has been maxed out in 2006, a year later from launch, with Gears of War- here is what GeOW looks like (http://guides.gamepressure.com/gearsofwa... no games will look better than this game. - PS3 was released in 2006, and its potential is nowhere near its full potential. Look at Metal Gear Solid 4-

- PS3 supports FULL 1080p resolution. Xbox 360 can’t display 1080p but it can upscale to 1080p but you can see a big difference between true 1080p(PS3) and upscaled 1080p(xbox 360) Also another thing, PS3 supports HDMI 1.3 which has richer colors and better quality while xbox 360 supports HDMI 1.2 which is outdated HDMI…



- With PS3, you are not getting just a gaming console, you are also getting a Blu-Ray drive. Blu-ray is the next-gen DVD. Xbox had a HD-DVD drive add-on for $200 but now HD-DVD is dead because people chose Blu-Ray as their Hi-Def format.



- PS3 games are produced on Blu-ray Disc. There are different capacities for Blu-ray- 25gb and 50gb. However they are coming out with 100gb discs and it will be fully compatible with PS3’s Blu-Ray drive. With the huge storage, developers can add more content, better graphics, and make a longer game. Xbox 360 uses DVD-9 which only holds 9gb. Developers are starting to complain that DVD is not big enough for games.



- Both systems offer online game however you have to pay $50 to subscribe for Xbox Live while Playstation Network offers the same exact features for free. XBL uses P2P- here is how P2P works(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co... so if someone has a bad connection, then the whole game will be laggy. Basically you are paying $50 for your own bandwidth. PSN has dedicated servers(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/co... so if one has a bad connection, it will not affect the game at all. Again PSN is free.



- Xbox 360 has a reported 33% chance of breaking down… PS3 reported to have .01% chance of breaking down. This might have an impact on your decision…

Well, the first game was about 9-10 hours, using no cheats, and considering the fact that the Mercs 2 map is about 304 timers larger than original Mercs, I'd say about 15-20 hours. Of course, that's just me, and I could be wrong, but I hope this helps.

it all depends on how good you are and how much time you take but yes it is about 20-30 hours depending on skill level:)

Is a PS3 more reliable than the Xbox360?

I currently own my second 360. And its broken. Again. Disk tray stops working, scratches disks, can't read disks, etc. I'm thinking about fixing it again, or should I just pick up a ps3? don't talk about which is better or what not please, but just answer. Someone who owns both, or at least owns a ps3, which one is more reliable? which one breaks less?

Yes it is way more reliable,



-PS3 % of Braking is Less Then Half a %.

-Xbox 360 (The new ones with HDMI) is 10%.

-Old Xbox 360s(The ones at launch) were 33%.



And PS3 only has 2 rare(Very rare Problems)

Yellow Light and The Unreadable Disc.

And it also tells you when it is over heating.

I currently own both and I prefer PS3. It is much more reliable. I have the 60gb version that I picked up January 2nd 2007 and it still runs like a champ. I owned a 360 premium and it died on my 4 times. I have an Elite now though that I picked up in September and havn't had a problem with it but I also haven't even turned it on since May. I would just save yourself the trouble and pick up a PS3. Now remember though just because they are more reliable doens't mean it can't break so don't get upset if you happen to be that unlucky. PS3 is going to be the future from here on out anyway until the next generation comes out.

Can't say about personal experience with an X-Box 360 because I don’t own one but my PS3 has been on 24/7 ever since Folding@Home came out. The only time I shut it off was a few hours when I was either installing a network cable in the walls or having my cable worked on; well it was off for about a week when an ice storm cut the power to the house as well but that really wasn’t my choice. I do have it in a little cubbyhole that I installed some fans in that will keep the air circulated so it is well ventilated. So I would have to say that my experiences with the PS3 have been good and I have hit it pretty hard with some major usage.

Ditch the 360 and get a ps3. Yes, it has more reliability and if you want more motivation.



This year Home is coming out, Killzone 2 is coming out, resistence 2 is coming out and so many other exclusives. oh i forgot to mention. Also, Bioshock is coming out with heavy support for home and much much more DLC then 360.

Yea, PS3 never breaks. The only time a PS3 breaks if you're unlucky enough to get one that wasn't built right. But there's an almost 0% chance you end up with one of those. PS3's can take a lot of abuse. Mine is in a very closed space in the hottest room of my house, and even when I play for over 3 hours on a very hot day (I did that with MGS4), it works perfectly

like the people of above me yes they r way more reliable i've owned my ps3 for a year and i had one problem with it, a game froze one time that was it ha ha not really a problem actually, yea i love my ps3 its awsome with my samsung hdtv, really recommend u get one

yeah the PS3 is a lot more reliable than the xbox the xbox console version that has sold the most has %33 failing rate and the ps3 has only %o.3 failing rate so obviously the ps3 is more reliable

PS3 has a 0.2% of faling while 360 has a 33% of failing and breaking down. most 360s do this and it still happening to most people. Thats one of the reasons I bought a PS3 and for its awesome games.

Yes. You will rarely have anything wrong with your PS3 and I bought a used 80GB PS3 off of eBay and I have had it for months and nothing has been wrong with it.

Ps3 and new hdtv problem what to do?

so i got this new vizio hdtv. my ps3 is set-up to run hd. well when i turn it on, the xmb does not show up, and the tv says does not support. well if i press x to get the game going (still cant see it btw) the game starts and then i can see the game. i can press the ps button and see the ingame xmb, but if i quit it goes back to the black screen and i cant see anything. anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

It sounds like your new Vizio does not support the resolution your PS3 is putting out in the home screen, you can change the setting by turning off your playstation, then hold the on button for a few seconds while it starts up, the system will default to 480p, and will allow you to choose the correct settings, good luck

same thing here but i bought an hdmi cable and then on the remote just pressed input like 4 times until it said hmdi 1 or 2 depending on the one you plugged it into. then my went blank and just appeared after a few seconds. hope this helps p.s. i also have a vizio 42 inch

1=GHWT! theres sooo many new features and songs, its going to be eternal.



2=Rock band, if your a music person and want both, the game controllers will be cross compatible.

SOCOM is another one im waiting for, those games will consume the rest of 08 and a large part of my 09.

Little Big Planet will be the most fun out of all those. The rest of them are just new content for old game engines. Yawn.



Except for maybe Motorstorm Pacific Rift, from the videos it looks like they're doing it in native 1080p, which figures Motorstorm would be the first major game to get that right. Now if they fix it so it's actually about racing instead of crashing.



You said 4 games but there's not 2 more games worth their cover price out of the rest of them. Guitar Hero, with all the downloadable songs etc does there even need to be a Guitar Hero 4? It's a money grab. Resident Evil 5 is another kowtow to the last console generation by developers who are afraid to make anything new, so they say "big news - sequel to ps2 blockbuster coming up." It will be garbage. Rockband doesn't need a Rockband2 for the same reason there doesn't need to be a Guitar Hero 4, they're just making excuses to sell you the same instruments all over again.



Call of Duty World at War will probably get a lot of attention, but I don't believe it deserves it after the unexplained popularity of Call of Duty 4, a shooter of mediocre quality and zero originality. Like most sequels it will probably be worse than whatever it's a sequel to. Ignore it.



That new Star Wars Force Unleashed game, or whatever it's called, may be good. Also if the next STar Wars Battlefront is ever released.
