How can i improve my PS3 graphics?

May be...
  • I recently bought an LCD tv..a sony bravia model KDL-52W3000 and i tried playing call of duty 4 but the graphics look like crap...i tried playing around with different settings but it doesn't look any better...can someone plz help me out and tell me wt settings i should do...?? (as of right now i don't have an hdmi cable)
  • sounds like you are connecting to a HDTV with the composite cables that came with the PS3. Those cables will not give you a HD picture, they can only support 480i. Of course it's going to look like crap. Go out and buy an HDMI cable, and you dont have to buy the most expensive one. The cheapest one will make absolutely no difference and don't let anyone tell u otherwise.
  • thanks you for everyone who replied...i got an hdmi cable and the graphics are amazing now..thanks Report It
  • for thing, are you sure you have the ps3 at HD out.. and depending on your tv which if its a new sony would 1080p,

also i recommend HDMI cables to be the best for quality, for sound and picture.
  • You could always buy a 30$ HDMI cabel for 1080p image and great sound quality. Ps3 alone is still the best system for graphics.Hope i answered your question.
  • You use an HDMI or HD component cable for it to look good on an HDTV!
  • Get some HDMI cables. Got mine at H&B (anb electronic megastore here in NYC) for $19. I got a Bravia a few months ago, and I gotta tell you I don't know what I was doing with my PS3 before...it's just so beautiful now.
  • If you dont have an hdmi cable or hd component cables your are not going to get hd quality. If your using the cables that came with the PS3 (composite) thats your problems.
  • the only way is to go out there and buy an HDMI cable.
  • The best you can do for now is set your TV to display it as a standard def picture (i.e. don't stretch or zoom) .

By using the composite video (the cable that comes with the PS3) you are suffering from rescaling. The PS3 first downscaled the picture from 720p (probably) for display on a standard TV, your high-def TV is then rescaling it back into 720p, or 1080p which is making it look terrible, there isn't much you can do about it.

When you get the HDMI cable things will look a whole lot better.
  • Are you using an HDMI cable ? You'll need an HDMI cable and then just follow the directions in your PS# manual for hook up information.

    Or go here: http://www.us.playstation.com/Support/PS...
  • buy an hdmi cable, and just buy the cheapest one their all the same, it WILL enchanced the graphics.
