PS2 games won't work. they read right, and start fine, but won't work when i get to the title screen.?

It's like my controllers just die. I just baught MLB the show 08 and it's not working. i thought it was the game so i tried more games like need for speed underground and MLb the show 06. in need for speed only the analog and D-pad works, and the show 06, nothing works, just like 08. Is it the console, controllers, controller ports? Please help

It sounds like it is dirty inside. If you do not have an air compressor go buy some canned air and blow out the dust inside that has built up. Then try a DVD lens cleaner. They are only about $12.00 and work great. If that does not work you will have to open the system.



The system is most likely out of warranty. Open the system, remove the tray cover and clean the lens with a cotton swab and some rubbing alcohol. Do not move the lens or press it too hard.



After this is done use a DVD lens cleaner once a month to keep it clean.



I have done this to both of my sons systems numerous times and they work great. Their systems are 8 years old
