Can you hook your ps3 wireless adapter to a modem?

May be...
  • Right now I was thinking bout buying a 360 this weekend but now I'm thinking about buying a PS3, since it has free online play

I was just wondering...PS3 comes with a built-in wireless adapter right? could you get that wireless adapter to connect to your Wired Modem?

    I use a comcast modem----MotorolaSB5100
  • Yes you can plug your PS3 directly into your modem...but you have to unplug it and power it off so it will recognize your ps3.

turn on your ps3 and set it to wired connection. then unplug your modem for like 15 seconds and then plug it back in. you should be good to go! just remember it is a good idea to do this whenever you plug something new directly into your modem. it is easier to just use a router, but you don't have to.
  • can't do wireless with just a modem, you need a router for the PS3's wi-fi. if not, you're gonna have to use a wired connect with an Ethernet cable.
  • YES!!!
