PS3 has:
Blu-ray: That means you can watch Blu-ray movies and since all PS3 games are on Blu-ray disks, it means that PS3 games can get more content than the 360 version.
Wi-Fi: No need to spend 100 bucks on a Wi-Fi adapter. No more tripping over cables.
Exclusives: Metal Gear Solid 4, Infamous, Resistance, Ratchet & Clank, Final Fantasy, God of War, LittleBigPlanet, Haze.
Reliability: .02% failure rate.
Online play: Free. That means you don't have to shell out 50 bucks a year just to play with someone else.
360 has:
DVD-9. Just a plain old dual layer DVD for games. That's just 8.7 gb vs. the PS3's 50 gb. Kojima said that he needed more than 50 gb for MGS4. MGS 4 is just a 2nd generation game.
No Wi-Fi: If you want Wi-Fi, be ready to shell out 100 bucks for the Wi-Fi adapter.
XBL: Online play is unmatched, but you have to pay 50 bucks a year.
Reliability: 33% failure rate.
Exclusives: Gears of War, Halo Wars, Too Human, Infinite Undiscovery.
And don't listen those trying to convince you that the 360 or PS3 is better or worse, often by using lies, exaggeration and uninformed opinions to support their personal views (they'll tell you all that's good for one console, and all that's bad for another).
Both the 360 and PS3 have their advantages and disadvantages and are of _similar_ power (as confirmed by many multiformat devs who create the best games for both consoles), with the PS3 potentially having a _slight_ edge overall, especially for exclusive games.
So what's my verdict on which console is best?
IT DEPENDS UPON THE GAMES YOU WANT TO PLAY, not based upon what certain people say or think. That's the most important thing. So see what's on offer for the PS3, see what's on offer for the 360, both exclusive and multi-format games, and make up your mind based upon the console that has the games which appeals to YOU the most. :)
Also, if you can, find a friend who is a fan of the PS3 and another who is a fan of the 360, and let them 'sell' the console to you, hopefully by showing you some of the best games available and allowing you to play them. And once again, don't allow them to make up your mind for you.... do it yourself based upon what you've seen, heard and experienced.
If you're thinking of buying one of them, then good luck on your choice, but you'll be happy with either console imo. :)
PS3 has bluetooth, internet connection and has BlueRay.
Xbox360 only has HDTV (which is out of business and they are remaking a blueray player for it now). You also have to pay around $60 a year for Xbox Live Gold to enable you to play games online, plus you might need to get a $100 wireless adaptor. Prices for each system can average out or so depending on the accecories...
For games it really depends on what type you like. Xbox 360 has many shooters, killing games and just a handful of other types. The bad thing is that its power cord gets really hot after a while. And it can get damaged really easily if not taken care of (red rings of death)
PS3 has more RPGS and other games and both have sports games. Plus its controllers are 6-axis, which are like motion sensitive. Better games are coming out later these years so it would get better and better.
So it really depends. I personally have a 360 and shooters get boring after a while.
the games are all on 360 at the moment but i am looking foward to final fantasy
