Will the 80GB ps3 in the mgs4 bundle be backwards compatible??

I'm just wonderin bacause if it isn't backwards compatible with ps2 and ps1 games then ill just buy the 40GB

for the most part yes it is backwards compatible with ps2 and ps1 games. it is no different than the previous 80gig ps3 that came in a bundle except for what comes with it and its' color. it will be gunmetal grey instead of black. only the 40gig has no backwards compatibility.

I had to see it to believe it, but you're right, it does say that. I really hope this is a mistake on the part of buy.com.

Yes, the "new" 80GB bundle will be compatible with PS2 games. Nothing changed on the "old" and the "new" 80GB models, just the game and controller it ships with. The 80gb is still the same, and it remains untouched.



All the PS3 are backwards compatible, EXCEPT the 40gb.
