put it this way, a store will get in lets say 10 ps3's that will come up to $3999.99 and sony will sell 10 ps3's to the store for 73% of that price which is $2919.99 so the store makes a little over a $1000 profit, because sony produces a ps3 for 61% of the $399.99 price so in other words sony can make a ps3 for $243 dollars so they have to make a profit.

Don't know how much it costs for a store to buy a ps3 or how much they make off of it, but its probably not much considering Sony loses $260 for every ps3.
