My kids have a ps2 and used to have an xbox, they want a new system, which is better, a ps3 or an xbox 360?

Both have large online communities

it mostly depends on what games your kids like to play. Although most games are available for ps3 and 360, some are exclusive to the system. The old 360s had many problems with overheating and the "ring-of-death", but the newer, more expensive, ones are better, though they still glitch a lot. Ps3s barely malfunction, but are more expensive. Also, if you use xbox live or it's playstation equivalent, you may go with one system over another because of whether their friends have one.

the xbox 360. i have played them both many many times and i like the xbox better. to me, it has better controls, and better games. it has most games the ps3 has plus gears of war(awesome game), halo 1-3, and soon gears 2. on top of that, the xbox is cheaper and has xbox LIVE, where you can play online, chat with friends, and download maps and other content from LIVE marketplace, some for free. plus, i think it looks cooler.



and to anyone who uses the " red ring of death" against the 360, the newer consoles have been completly redesined to drastically reduce the number of red ring incidents.

PS3 kicks Xbox 360's ***.



It has so much more features, and is better than Xbox 360 in every way. It has better graphics, now better games. The Playstation Network is free, wireless, and has HOME coming out which is free as well.

PS3 also has a trophy system in it's next update.



And TruthBt, whatever, Sony lost 6 billion dollars, and

Microsoft lost 20 billion.





Oh and by the way, I have had 5 Xbox 360's in the last 2 years. They break a lot. Their hardware is cheap, and the graphics are outdated.

xbox 360 = cheaper and crappier

PS3 = expensive yet has Bluray and better hardware made for evolution. Also has motion sensing controllers for Wii like games.

Sony took a loss on the system so they could sell more of them, more hardware sold = way more software sold, this is not uncommon with consoles, MS has lost close to 18 billion in repairs for the Xbox 360.



Online play on Ps3 is fine, and free. Home will make it better.

PS3 is going to have a longer life span meaning you cna keep it for longer without it becoming out of date.

Xbox will break down numerous times and you ahve to but lots of extra accesories which makes it cost more than the PS3.

ps3 it may not have sold as well as a 360 because it is slightly more expensive, but the graphics are amazing, and the ps3 is also a blue ray disc player. i have both and i definetly like my ps3 better.

I would go with the PS3 cause they already have games for it so if they want to keep playing those games they don't need to buy new ones for the 360.

xbox360 has a better selection of games

ps3 has more advanced technology(like blu-ray) but not by a lot

well if your kids are around 13 or 14 i dont see a point for them to have blu-ray so i'd go with the Xbox 360
