Should I buy a psp or wait for the next generation of handhelds?

May be...
  • I currently own a ps2. it has been a great console for 3 years. but recently I've noticed that there are less and less new games. I was thinking I should buy a pspbecause I will be traveling quite a bit the next few years, I also don't want to pay a rediculous amount for game consoles like the xbox 360 or ps3.

I was wondering since the psp has been out for a few years now... should I buy one now, or wait... for whatever crazy handheld that sony is going to come up with next?
  • The psp is probably going to be sony's only handheld you should buy it, but if you do you might want to hack it because it makes it more fun and you can rip games off the web.

(a bigger memorystick a four or two gig makes it the ultimate gaming system)

    a psp can:

Play games you download from online (No buying games)

    Play music

    play movies

    surf the web

emulate other systems (such as the gameboy advance or snes)

    Play ps1 games

Full customisation (if you know what your doing)

you can change; font, icons, background, wave, and gameboot you can get hombrew programs that

play music while playing a game

let you use your psp as a universal remote

    --------------------------------------...

    so what do you say?

    "XD"
  • if you read the reviews of sales for the PSP it is in the rise since last year

I do own a psp and it is GREAT

not only for games, you can watch videos/movies listen to music and store your favourite photos to view to your friends

plus it has WIFI and you can hook up with any public wireless network and surf the net

also you can connect to any other psp and challenge you friends - very easy

BUT the best is playing games, try GOD OF WAR just superb with almost similar graphic power as the ps2

one thing, you cannot compare xbox360 to a psp, it is just unfair comparison

    I CAN TAKE IT ANYWHERE
  • PSP for sure because:

    It's portable

you can take it anywhere(also in traveling)

great large manitor(in all of games that you can take it anywhere)

    full music

    watching movies

    connect to Internet

play with other players in world

    send pictures

    share games

at all it just have two big diffrents with mobile:call & send SMS
  • PSP's are nothing special these days. My friend bought one, and got tired of it real fast and sold it for a xbox 360. xbox 360's have a lot to offer. PS3's are useless unless you want to burn a hole in your pocket. Plus the xbox live is better than PS3's online. The only semi-good handlheld out right now is nintendo DS. Some games are pretty good. If need be, you could by a used xbox 360
  • Consoles typically last 5 years. The PSP was released in early 2005. Thus, it will be superseded (and will stop receiving games) in just 18 months.

It's your choice if you buy it or not.
  • I think you should buy the psp it might take longer

for another hand held to come out also the price might be

more than a psp would cost
  • well if you don't want to buy a 360 which is now only 350, you're better off with a psp, because the new hand held will probably cost more than the 360/ps3.. so ;x
