PS3 overheat?
May be...
i just got a new PS3 and i left it on all night (8 hours). i just dont know if i damged anything or if it overheated. it still turns on and everthing still works that i know of. but i am just begin cautious. and how long can u leave it on for before it overheates? If you are worried about overheating then I would recommend an inter-cooler system, or just making sure that you have plenty of air circulation on the TV stand. Other than that your system should be fine to run overnight.
(PS keep it clean. keep it cool)The PS3 can with stand that. I left mine on paused on COD 4 for 2 days (went on weekend holiday) and came back and not a single problem (accidentally ;)). Now if that was a 360, your house would probably be on fire. If you are worried about your PS3, why not get a cooling system. Just keep it clean otherwise the dust will compact the fan meaning it won't run at optimum pace!Like the other answerer said : Keep it clean, keep it cool.
I've had my Ps3 on for 10 hour spans of gameplay never mind folding@home! When I started getting into COD4 Online and just this last weekend playing MGS4 I put in some serious gaming sessions with time for bathroom breaks only.
I've had my PS3 since 11/06 and I've had no problems, I've even swapped out the 60gb HDD with a 250gb HDD and the thing still works great!
Don't worry, just keep your baby clean.Nah it won't over heat mine was on for like 14 stright hours and it didn't even think about getting hot, just keep it clean like everyone else says that's the most imporant thing.I've left mine on one time for well over 12 hours running the folding @ home program, it was still cool to the touch.stop worrying your PS3 will be fine it didnt overheat
i leave my PS3 on for 10 hours so it can do folding@home and nothing has or will ever happen to it
