Why do people hate the PS3 and like the 360?

May be...

It has better graphics then the 360 (for those that don't believe look up the ps3's disc rate speed), blu-ray, free online gaming, siax controller(which means no battery), good games (yes they are coming, just give it some time), better technical support, and I could name off so much more. The only good thing about the 360 is XBOX Live.

Because they are idiots that think that they are getting a cheaper system.



Some say its because they don't force you to buy Bluray or HDDVD, but that makes games better so why because of 50GB of space. But with the 360 you only have 8.5GB of space.



Some say its because it has more games, and better exclusives, just because you have more doesn't mean better. The only exclusives worth buying are Gears of war and, uhhh what else. (halo sucks, it is way to overrated). Thats just because it was out first. And the ps3 has Uncharted, GT5 prolouge, Warhawk, Rachet and Clank, and, MGS4, thats just what I can think off the top of my head, there are more.



Some say Live, but the only thing it has is in game communication, that is the ONLY difference. The PlayStation Store is much better than Live Marketplace, better games, more free stuff, and you get full games like GT5 prolouge and Warhawk, which Micro$oft won't allow.



Some also say that its because Micro$oft won't allow a pre game install. This will virtually eliminate loading times and gives better graphics, thats just some of its pros, its also why GTA 4 took so long to come out. Its only cons is that it takes up space, well now I see why they like that Micro$oft doesn't allow it, the 360 HDD are so expensive.



I really don't know why people think the Xbox 360 is better than ps3.

Sony didn't lie, the award was given to both Sony and Nintendo for there motion sensing technology's.

Kimahri S, you had one of the few consoles that acctually broke, only 1 in 5000 ps3's have a problem, if you get another one I can almost guaranty you it will never break. You could just buy a new HDD, you can get a 300GB for less than $100

Because people who like their own consoles, like everyone else said, will try to defend it. Also, most people who have their own consoles, like the 360, are generally more informed about it; upcoming games, specs,etc. So they might not know everything about the PS3 and say crap like "it has no good games". Yes, I totally agree with you, Xbox Live is the only thing the 360 has over the PS3

It's just xbox fanboism. I have both systems, and I love my PS3 far better than my 360. I've had so many hardware issues with my 360 that I'm scared to even turn it on now. The PS3 is a far supperior machine, it's really a media center with a Blu-ray Player. The best part is that if you run out of hard drive space, you can upgrade the hard drive yourself. mine is currently sporting a 350 GB hard drive....have TONS of music, pictures and videos on it. Not to mention all the demos and addons I get from the PSN store.360 has far more games, but most of them are crap anyway, only a handful of exclusives on 360 I have or would actually buy. Best part...I don't have to worry about my PS3 Blowing up.

I own both and I must say that the Xbox 360 has more games that deserve a B+



But the PS3 has fewer games but more of them deserve an A+



And to tell you the truth you can't base the greatness of the PS3 on games like FF XIII and little big planet and home, because they aren't out yet.



It's like if i said I the next gen xbox is better than the PS3. It's not fair you can't play it yet it's simply not there yet.

The 360 has more good exclusive games. More friends have a 360. The 360 has a better network connection and the on-line store has much more to offer than the PS3 on-line store (even though MS does not allow you to have a hard drive to store it).



People like to root for the underdog. The 360 is in 3rd place and the PS3 is a distant 2nd behind the Wii in sales.



I like the PS3 for the graphics and the Blue Ray player. I like the ability to upgrade the PS3 hard drive (currently 320 GB).

People like to brag about there own console even though the pray to be able to own a ps3 one day.

I had a friend that had a 360 and he said that it was way better then ps3 but then is father bought him a ps3 and he said that ps3 kicks xbox's ***.



Plus the only good game xbox has is gears of war (halo sucks)



Ps3 has mgs4 and just that is better than halo and gears of war put together.

It's the "bad Boy" of gaming. I rather liked it in the early days when the ps3 wasn't as popular. There weren't as many idiots online as there are now that the "haters" have gone to the "dark side" Please "haters" who don't appreciate gaming and only play to be in with the in crowd, stay with xbox live leave psn alone!

Hey, someone I agree with! As with everything Microsoft does, the XBox 360 sucks. It uses the dead HD-DVD format, BLEH! It has bad graphics, BLEH! XBox Live is too expensive, Cha-Ching! And many other problems. U know what, Apple should come out with a gaming console called iPlay.

PS3 is more expensive, and doesnt have enough games.BUT those games are fun. The 360 crashes too much and has gay games except for bioshock, oblivian, gears of war, halo, ect. Still, theyre both great systems to me.

i love both, and i really have never heard people saying they hate the ps3. i just heard everyone likes them both the same.

People like to defend whatever system they have. The xbox came out first so it had its fanbase already so they started first trying to convince people the Ps3 is bad.

as far as i know the Nintendo 64 had the analog controller before the ps1

its just the halo fanboys blowing off steam because their 360 died. I know how they feel. Mine died yesterday out of pathetic warranty. Luckily, i just got MGS4 the day before!

1: its true the graphical capabilities of the systems are a push, right now. but the PS3 does have more capability as is evident when the developers of bioshock are throwing around the idea of further enhancing the visuals for the PS3 version.



2: blu-ray is more than just a dvd format. you stick to your 8.5 gigs of storage space if you want, but i can tell you this, more and more developers are salivating at the thought of more room to throw stuff into.



3: no lag in halo is unimpressive, thats not the same kind of experience that GTA IV is. and you arent paying for the servers with PS3, so there will be some trade off. microsoft has been perfecting live for years, sony is just now gettin on that bus.



4: the sixaxis contoller has a 60 hr battery life. what do your AA's get? or how much did you have to pay for a recharge kit? also the motion contoll is a nice additive. its not like the wii where its the entire focus, it just adds depth to gameplay.



5: all the good sony games are on 360? lol, right, if you only play fps's then, yeah, thats a true statement but:

folklore rated a 9.1

uncharted rated a 9.5

metal gear solid 4 rated a 10

resistance: fom a 9.5

heavenly sword a 9

its a shame games like lair didnt get better reviews, must have been alot of 360 owners in the gaming media that couldnt get thier dexterity up enough to handle that game.

and now microsoft is trying everything they can to sell games cuz no one is buyin' them anymore.

7: the PS3, even at its launch, is still cheaper than the 360. given everything it does for you. now, maybe wi-fi internet didnt interest you, obviously hd- format dvd's dont either. but if you had wanted to upgrade, you'd have paid out your rear end for stuff that came standard on sony's machine.



the PS3 is the better system, its why microsoft rushed thier system out. and now they've shot themselves in the foot, having to release a new system during the PS3's peak. seriously, who is going to buy a 5-600.00 xbox with no libary when they can get the PS3?(especially given the numerous missteps with the 360.)

Exactly how does a transfer rate on a disc have anything to do with 'better graphics'?



So a game that runs off of a hard drive automatically has better graphics than a game that runs off an optical drive?

1. i cant notice a difference in graphics if im playin on a HDTV



2. as for blu-ray why would i use my gaming system to watch a movie (blu-rays also cost like $10-$20 more than regular DVDs)



3. PS3 online gamer: "awesome i just got GTA 4 and im gonna kick some a** online. what the hell the servers are down???"

XBOX 360 gamer: "awesome i just got Halo 3 and im gonna kick some a** online. Wow no lag in this game at all thats awesome!!"

(GTA4 was released for PS3 and the servers fried when 750,000 people signed online, but when Halo3 was released and 1.5 million people signed online the servers kept running without a problem)



4. the siax controller still needs to charge every once and awhile and the whole motion thing isnt all that amazing

to Matthias Dannflor Solid Snake heres is a lie that sony made This past Monday is my daily update to CB’s 2007 Preview I mentioned something a bit controversial. Basically I said that Sony has a nasty habit of lying to us gamers and I don’t know why we put up with it.



”Even if we do get an official word on a Killzone project from Sony or developer Guerilla Games, the result is usually a giant pack of lies. Between the first game being touted as the game to finally top Halo, and that whole fiasco at E3 ‘05 with their “real-time” footage, who knows what to believe from those guys.”

With that out of the way, I think I had better explain myself. See for the past week Sony has been bragging like mad. They’ve been running from publication to publication telling journalists that Sixaxis controller actually won an Emmy for contributions to game design. We here at CB didn’t really see why that was significant gaming news, and so glossed over the story. When the story hit however everyone and their brother raised an eyebrow and mumbled, “Wait the Sixaxis beat out the Wii-mote?”



Well Seamus Byrne of Hydrapinon thought the same thing and decided to do some snooping around. This is what he found:



A follow up message from Christine Chin from NATAS tells us Sony has it all wrong. The award was for the original dual shock controller. Here is her message in full: I understand you had contacted Cheryl Daly, Director of Communications at NATAS to confirm if Sony won for their PS3 controller. This is incorrect, Sony won for their dual shock analog controller. The award is from the Video Game Technology Group. It was nominated by our internal group and considered along with the Nintendo D-Pad both of which were considered Emmy worthy for the development of the generation of controllers that followed the classic joysticks. I would like to confirm that Sony did not win for their PS3 controller, they won for their Dual Shock Analog controller.



So there you have it. This makes a lot more sense, and Sony's press release was flat out incorrect. Optimistically it could have been an error but given Sony's track record so far I have remain cynical.

ps3 is terrible cause it broke down for me in the 1st month and i tried playing a blu-ray movie and i just screwed up and worst of all the memory was full in friggin week

I hate the PS3 because of all the PS3 fanboys spamming about how great the PS3 is. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't hate the PS3.

most people just prefer 360 because of its great games and great online play even though u have to pay
