Wots better ps3 or xbox360?

May be...
  • - ps3 has a built-in blu-ray player (360 does not

-ps3 supports 1.3 HDMI which has rich colors and xbox supports 1.2 HDMI

    - ps3 has much more and better exclusives, most of them cant go to xbox 360 because it cant handle that many data(DVD- 8.5gb, blu-ray 50gb)

    - because of the blu-ray's huge space, ps3 will have WAY better graphics than 360

    - online is free for ps3 not like 360

    - ps3 will have over 300 games released by this spring

    - you can browse the internet on ps3, no such thing for xbox 360

    - playstation home is coming out this spring, its a virtual community where you can hang out with friends and customize your own apartment which xbox doesnt have(FREE)

    - ps3 is a true HD console. xbox 360 upscale games to 1080p and ps3 DISPLAY games up to 1080p

    - built in Wi-Fi ( not on 360)

    - xbox 360: 33% hardware failure

    ps3: .2% hardware failure(see the decimal? less than 1%!)

    - ps3 has better back-comp except the 40gb

    - xbox 360 already has been maxed out to its potential with gears of war. ps3 has not been maxed out yet- look at uncharted drakes fortune, better graphics than gears and its only 30% of ps3’s potential

    - you can upgrade your harddrive without voiding warranties with any 2.5 HDD, which xbox cant because you have to buy a xbox HDD

(they actually have the step by step on how to upgrade it on playstation.com)

those are the ones that i know right off my mind but there are much more reason than this

Now I want you to do me a favor, list all the reasons why xbox is better than ps3. I PROMISE you that nobody will get at least 5 reasons

if you get ps3, look at this, you will be able to play metal gear solid 4, haze, killzone 2, resistance 2(60 player online!!!!), final fantasy XIII, motorstorm 2, little big planet, better version of GTA IV, god of war 3, uncharted drake's fortune, heavenly sword, ratchet and clank, SOCOM: confrontation, gran turismo 5, ETC- http://news.filefront.com/ps3-exclusives...

All 360 has is Gears of War 2 and ... The world may never know.

    Prices as of today:

    ps3- 80gb: $499 with MGS4 and a Dualshock 3

    40gb: $399 with spiderman 3 blu-ray

    xbox 360(premium)- $349

    (elite)- $449

if you want the accessories that ps3 comes with, that would add up to over 700 dollars, so that means ps3 is cheaper

xbox 360 pricing to match ps3's features:

    $349/$449- console

$50- XBL subscription(only for 1 YEAR) pay $50 every year

    $100- wi-fi adaptor

    $200- HD-DVD drive add-on

    $20- rechargeable battery kit

all comes out to $720/$820- add $50 each year you subscribe for XBL

    ps3 features:

    $399/$499- console

    spiderman 3 blu-ray movie/motorstorm

    online- free

rechargeable battery- built in the controller

    wi-fi built in

    blu-ray player(better than HD-DVD) built in

all comes out to $399/$499, oh my,look at that, its the same price as before

PS3 will win the console war, no doubt. Xbox 360 and Wii are so weak from technological point of view, that in couple of years they won't be capable of dealing with serious graphics. GTA IV, for instance, Was not even announced for Wii - this toy won't be able to cope with the game's requirements.

    Let's compare PS3 and XBOX 360:

1). A third of XBOX 360 (33%) are malfunctioning right from the start. PS3 return rate is only around 0.2%. Despite some people say, that new 360 has no breakdown issues - just visit Xbox section of Yahoo answers and see for yourself an amount of complaints.

    2). PS3 has 7 kernels in Cell processor, Xbox 360 -only 3.

3). PS3 uses advanced tech called Blu-Ray, one disc can store up to 25 (single layer) and dual layer 54 gb (in the future - up to 200 gb), Xbox 360 - regular dual layer DVD-9 (8.5GB). It's possible to get HD-DVD (max. - 30GB) for 360, but it'll cost you around 50$. Besides, HD-DVD had lost the format war with Blu-ray. Toshiba had stopped to manufacture them, Microsoft too.

    4). Calculations per sec - PS3 - 51-billion-dot-product-operati... per second

    Xbox 360 - 33.6-billion-dot-product-opera... per second

5). PS3 has full media support - USBs, built-in 4 slots card reader (except 20GB and 40GB versions), ability to use printer and so on.

Xbox 360 has USBs and only 2 memory slots.

6). PS3 supports up to 7 Bluetooth Controllers

    Xbox 360 - up to 4 Controllers

    7). PS3 - wi-fi included (except 20 gb version)

    Xbox 360 - wi-fi will cost you around 100 $

8). From the first technical sight - graphics are stronger in 360 (it has a stronger graphics chip - Xenos), BUT PS3 can use it's Cell CPU for graphics too, which gives you better graphics in total. PS3 uses a weaker RSX chip, that was developed by Nvidia exclusively for PS3. RSX runs on 550 Mhz. It's difficult to compare their graphics, because 360 has a video chip with totally different structure and operating memory is divided differently in both consoles. Xbox isn't that versatile in dividing tasks between CPU and GPU as PS3. That's why PS3 exclusives look better than 360's exclusives.

9). Xbox 360 is widely known for so-called "red ring of death" problem - it gets overheated easily. My PS3 was running for more than 15 hours non-stop with no problems. Sometimes Xbox 360 becomes so overheated, that thermopaste on CPU melts, drips on motherboard and successfully shortcircuits it. That's why in some countries people call Xbox 360 "Coffin 360".

10). In 2008 PS3 will get more than 300 games, including Metal Gear Solid 4, The Agent and other great exclusives. Here is the good link to the future PS3 releases. http://ps3.ign.com/index/release.html......

11). PS3 online is free, Xbox 360 - you have to pay.

12). There were reports, that 360 scratches discs. No reports on that in PS3.

13). The funniest thing, that right now there are no games for PS3, that show full potential of the console. Biggest games weigh only 25 GB (Xbox 360 will need more than 3 discs even for those).

14). On PS3 you can install other OS, such as Linux Yellow Dog, Ubuntu and others. Sony officially lets you do it. There is no such thing in 360.

15). PS3 HDD can be replaced easily with any 2.5" SATA 5400 RPM HDD (used in laptops). 250 GB will cost you around 170$. In 360 you have to buy exclusive HDD, where 20GB will cost you 100$.

16).Sony expects PS3 to stay on the market for, at least, 7-10 years. Also Sony reduces price now. There is a cheaper 40GB version of PS3.

17).Sony constantly upgrades PS3 software (free updates for OS) - you get new functions and improvements.

18). PS3 controller (sixaxis) has a motion control - you move controller - game responds. Wii has it, Xbox 360 - doesn't. PS3 is getting rumble controller (Dualshock 3) on 15.04.2008, Japan already has it. On www.ebay.com I saw those controllers on sale 50$ and up (unofficial import).

19).On PS3 you can help sick people by running Folding Home project. Wii and Xbox 360 didn't even think about it.

20).New 40GB is 399$ or 399 euro (depends on the region) - it has no backwards compatibility with PS2 games, has 2 USBs instead of 4, no built-in card reader, but it's the same PS3, strong, reliable, less noisy, different cooling system. The price is friendly.

21). But, to be just, I'm not a PS3 fanboy, so (despite I own one) hear this - PS3 games (exclusives) are very hard to develop due to complicated Cell's architecture. We have to wait till developers will figure out how to develop games properly. Sometimes multiplatform games run not so good on PS3 due to the same developing issues - it's hard for developers to get a grip on such advanced technologies
  • i would say the ps3, because

    1. it is more power full, it has 4 more processors

    2. it plays blu ray discs, and they rock

    3. the online play is free

    4. a lot of things don't need to be special for ps3, like headsets, hard drives, cables etc...

    5. they don't break down

    6. they have the ability to connect 7 controllers to one console

    7. the controllers are easy to par with the console, no holding a button rubbish, you just connect it via usb

    8. xbox 360 will suffer when it cant put all of the game data on 1 disc, costing more to produce games.

    9. xbox 360 discs are more likely to get damaged because the blu-ray discs are tougher.

    10. you can use the ps3 controller on a PC, without spending more money

    11. most good xbox 360 games will be on PC (gears of war and bioshock)

    12. the update 2.40 will allow in-game access to more features like music, and surf the web for hints

    13. the ps3 can surf the Internet, and even go on youtube and watch videos

    14. the xbox 360 upscales games to 1080p when certain ps3 games [gran turismo 5] are full 1080p

    15. because the games are not compressed to fit into a 8GB DVD, the ps3 loads quicker

    16. the hard drive is easy to replace on a ps3

    17. you can put Linux on a ps3

    18. the 20/60/80GB version of the ps3 plays 75 to 95% of ps2 /ps1 games, when the xbox 360 plays just over 450 xbox games

    phew...
  • Im sorry but this question cannot be answered un-biasedly and will probably result in a flame war, if you want to go by price, in the long run, the PS3 is cheaper.

The $399 PS3 comes with a 40gb hdd (interchangeable with any SATA 2.5 inch HDD for Laptops 500gb max), a blu-ray 2.0 player, a built in wifi card, 1080p video output and free online play.

The $349 XBOX 360 comes with a 20gb hdd (specially made by microsoft, no custom upgrades, only to 120gb max), and 1080p video output. Then you need to purchase the $99.99 wifi adapter, $50.00 a year XBOX LIVE GOLD membership for online play, $49.99 HD-DVD Player, that is if you still want to watch HD-DVD, even though they lost the format war.

Thats a total of over $550 the first year for the xbox, and 50 dollars every year thereafter. If you have the xbox for 8 years, you face up to 400 extra dollars to pay. for that amount you can get 2 ps3s

the ps3 also supports bluetooth, the xbox does not

ohh, and eskimo lee, you just contradicted yourself
  • wow, You have opened a can of worms here.

PS3- what you are going to get is a bunch of PS3 fans puling out the Specs of a console and yawning on about how Blue-Ray is better and superior and nothing about actual game play or decent games. Most of PS3 game shave been on X box a while now and are old news!

However Xbox is a much better console in my opinion Graphically and game play wise despite the HD vs BR argument. You get a lot more for less money with Xbox, Games like San Andreas haver over 10 more hours of game play coming out that PS3 fans will never experience.

So Xbox is the superior console.
  • Each console has is pro's and cons!!!

PS3: Best looking, plays blu-rays, has free online gaming, has the best graphics, has the fastest processor, can be used as a media play as it can play videos (can use divx), music and photo's and if you install linux, can be your pc as well. Also, has a nice choice of exclusive games!!! The bad points are that it's a bit heavy if you need to move it frequently, games are a bit expensive at the moment but they are falling in price and some people find the console expensive compared to the wii.

Xbox 360: has nice set of exclusive games (HALO and PGR), can play your own music during games and thats about it. The bad points are you have to pay for online play (£40 per year!!!), has not got the best reliability, not as good graphics as the PS3 and doesn't look all that good. Also, doesn't have built in wifi!

    My order would be:

    1. PS3 (i have it)

    2. Xbox 360 (don't want it!)
  • I was in the same boat as you a few months ago, trying to pick a console. I will tell you the 4 little words that made my decision very simple.

    "RED RING OF DEATH"

Look it up on youtube or google. The 360 is poorly made and full of technical flaws. It can abruptly overheat and die, and it can scratch up and ruin your game discs for no reason. My good friend has a 360 and has had to send it in so many times for repairs that I've lost count.

I bought a ps3 because they are well made and have none of these problems 360 is plagued with. If I'm going to spend $400 on something, I want it to last.
  • I've used two 360s and don't like how loud the console is. It makes a high-pitch noise. It is a normal noise, but I think it is too loud. I haven't tried PS3 so I don't know if it is the same.
  • PS3 IS THE BEST ,ITS ALMOST THE SAME AS THE XBOX 360 BUT THE DIFFERENCE IS THAT IT HAS BLU-RAY GRAPHICS IN GAMES AND MOVIES OTHER THINGS ARE ALL THE SAME AS INTERNET, GAMES,MUSIC AND GAMES BUT THE DIFFERENCE IS THE GRAPHICS WHICH MAKES PS3 BETTER
  • who cares. its like saying which religion is better? christians or catholics.
  • Actually the wii is better but thats another argument all together
  • PS3.

    Two words - Gran Turismo.
  • I don't know but the words red ring of death kinda scare me though.

    Ps3 is better.
  • Go for XBOX 360. The PS3 and the XBOX 360 both display 1080P
  • it depend on the person what he really wants for a console and to think ahead what will be the console outcome...
  • hi , off course x box 360 its cheaper better graphics more options n more games dan ps3 too so my choice x box 360
  • I say the new one is always the best so i say ps3
  • It all depends on what kinda system featrues, games and online services you like.

Im not gonna say anything u pick
  • jake is right about flame throwers

    so i'll say 360
  • depends
  • What is 'wots'?
  • SEARCH BUTTON
  • XBOX360 FOR NOW.
  • ps3
  • WARHAWK105 IS COPING MY ANSWER I WROTE THIS AND HE COPIED THIS DONT LISTEN TO WARHAWK105!!! I OWN THIS ANSWER!!!!! HE IS A LIARS!!! I OWN THIS ANSWER!!

Xbox 360 is getting GTA IV, however, the game is going to be released on several DVDs - Xbox 360 owners will have to interrupt gaming process and switch discs (Rockstar complained about this issue). Only PS3 will have it on single BD-DVD.

    Let's compare PS3 and XBOX 360:

YOU SEE I MADE THIS ANSWER SO I SHOULD GET CREDIT FOR IT.

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
  • this is for if you deciding to get a 360or a ps3, and i am not a fanboy of either.for the record i own 360 and a ps3 and i love them both lets start with the 360

    360 pros:

-xbox live simple and easy to use and stay connected

    -a great game selection

-the headsets, give in games chat,

these are like the only pros but it's still a good system wort buying.\

    360 cons:

-for you to go wireless you have to buy their wireless adapter or you star having problems hell i am having problems now.

-they don't have blu-ray, and if you want to have hd-dvd you have to go out and buy the drive,

-you pretty much have to buy every thing for it.

-red rings of death, the 360 breaks down more then the ps3, i have had 3 360s in the past 4 years, adn it's not like i don't take care of them because i do, it's the materials microsoft uses

    - you have to ay for the xbox live

now on to the main event to the ps3

    ps3 pros,

-about less than 1% of all ps3's breakdown which isn't as much as the 360s.

    - the wireless adapter comes with the ps3 so thats why it's more expensive so your really paying for everything you get.

-you can download full games from the playsation storen wether they be psp,ps3,ps2,ps1, or jjust some arcade like games

-, there's remote play with your psp, so if you have a a movie, or game, or music on your ps3 you can wireless connect to your ps3 using you psp to watch movies and games only if it's psp game.

-and of cousre we can't for get the blu-ray player in it.

-there is no disic tray, you put the disics in like the head unit(cd player in your car),

    - less scrachting,

    - and since they are blu-ray, (up to 50 gb)longer, and better games, like mgs4, and others i can't think of right now.

    - bigger hard drives, 40,60,80gb bigger than the 360 except the elite version of the 360 which has 120 gb, but you can also add bigger external hard drives to the ps3

-you can go on the internet.

-somepeople think this is a con but it isn't. some games require install which can take up to 20 min in the case of dmc 4, but since you install you pretty much have no load screens, and the game runs a lot smoother.

    - the dual shock 3 contoller has rumble and sixaxis motion sensing so when play games like wire hawk you can chose if youwant to use the anlog sticks to fly the plane or you can just move the controller around in the direction you want to fly.

-the controller to me is very confortable, and fimilar

-playstation home is coming out which is a like a 3-d myspace, kinda like the sims

-ps3 uses bluethooth so you can you pretty much any cell phone headset

    - you don't have to pay for the online

    ps3 cons:
