Is there any way for a 40g ps3 to play ps2 games?

May be...
  • i just baught a ps3 and live in canada is there any way to play ps2 games on it? (besides Mod Chips)
  • nah i tryed to find this out too- its impossible. they took out the emulator from 40gig ps3. only way to do it is buy a 60gig off gamestation. but they pretty steep. not really much point in it really, from what ive seen the graphics are worse on the ps3, plus your limited to what games you can actually play ( gf's brother has 60 gig) and its something like theres a code on the back off the ps2 case and only certain ones play on it? (-ps3 i mean-) not sure though.
  • There is absolutely no way to play PS2 games on a 40gb PlayStation, including the mod-chip path as there are none for the PlayStation 3. The 40gb simply lacks the PS2 graphics processor needed for PS2 compatibility.
  • why spend money on a playstation 3 when you can get it for free? just go to this site and complete a few quick tasks and they'll send you one - at no charge!
  • no their is absolutely no way to make a 40GB PS3 play PS2 games their isnt any mod chips either
  • no sorry
  • nope no possible way
