MGS4, big boss hard mode woth playing first time through?

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the patriots, I just bought a ps3 MGS4 edition, just so I could play MGS4. Most of you are probably Final Fantasy freaks, so this question is geared towards us elite, special few, who honor the higher power of the MGS video game series. I just wanted to ask, it is worth playing the hardest difficulty your first time through? Is it better just to play normal mode first. If hard mode IS worth it, are there any unlockables for the accomplishment of the game?

Here is how I played it.



Normal [the harder normal] for my first " getting to know " playthrough.



Then I did liquid easy for my "no kills or alerts" playthough.

This unlocks the stealth item which makes you have 100% camoflage and the bandana which gives you infinite ammo.



I used my unlocks from my previous playthrough to complete big boss extreme dificulty which is a challenge but is rewarding notheless.

I went through skilled first and then big boss hard there is no difference other than alerts are harder and your rations/noodles/ and drugs are cut in half, in the last mode you don't see yet which is elite mode, you only get 3 of the previous things.

yes if you want to get the special badge and with that you can get cool special costume but you have to beat it in 5 hour without killing anyone ( boss also ) no alert and you can't use the stealth camo or bandanna.
