Need help buying the right PS2 Model!!!!!!!!?

So, im going to buy my boyfriend a PS2 for his birthday. i was looking at the refurbished ones on GameStop and im going to get one there. But i was looking around on the internet and found out that there are ALLOT of different versions and models of the PS2. I know some PS2's have trouble reading certain disks because this happened to my cousin. What model should i buy my boyfriend?

I want one that is going to have enough space for him to play all his games, wont break down, has along life span, and isn't the model that has trouble reading certain disks.

I would get a slim one, that is either refurbished or used, and if you can afford it, I would get a silver one, but the color doesn't matter. You would also want to get him a memory card to use with his PS2, since otherwise he won't be able to save his games. You can get one for 24.99 at Gamestop. Finally, you might want to get him another controller, so he can play with his buddies. They are also at Gamestop, but there are many different brands and styles of those. You might want to get him a wireless one, so he doesn't have to worry about the wires. Hope this helps you buy a PS2!!

Don't get chunky. It's ugly and not as reliable as slimline!

Better to get a new generation consoles because there are newer and better features. Also, because of PS3, they may in the next few years, stop making games. Why not get a PS3?!? It's future proof! Same games as the PS2 and some more other exclusive titles!

if you get a ps2 i would prefer a ps2 slim, (the real thin ones) ive had an Original and it had disk errors, I would say get him a ps3 or an xbox 360. Because they both are great these days and i think its a matter of time before they stop making games for the ps2

Why does he want a PS2? Pretty soon the game production for the new games has slowed down for the PS2. Havn't you noticed? Just get him a giftcard. You'll be happy when he can't buy any new games and you will know you didnt' waste your money.
