Playstation 3 Network down?

May be...

My husband just hooked up his new Playstation 3 and although we can get on the internet - but when he tries to play Call of Duty 4 online it keeps saying that the playstation network is down and will be up later - he is super frustrated but I was wondering how long is the network usually down? Any Advice

i play alot of socom online, and im sure what the problem is they are doing maintence or an update.socom and many other online games have set times where you wont be able to get online with the game during that process.give it a shot later on.if it keeps it up call sonys hotline they should be able to tell you if the network for call of duty is up.also make sure u do all the updates for ps3 and cd4...did u update the ps3?go to updates via internet.....

I can get into the PlayStation Store, send messages, and get into Resistance, Burnout and MGO online modes, so if the PSN was down, it's back up now. Maybe COD4 is doing server maintenance? What is the exact message you get?

They are improving it. My advice would be to tell him that ps3 is always being updated to it can be even better than 360 than what it already is.
